well, this is a re-enactment, so it works best if you aim for the shield - it looks exciting, loud bangs, hard hits... if you tried to fight "for real", someone would get hurt.
Mythbusters were testing a myth,there thei were to cut throu swords with a sword, thei hade: an Irish Claymoree,a katana,a Frenche Sabere, and a big, big Swedish wiking sword. The wiking sword busted the Claymoree, so the Swedish wikings hade the best swords of that time. GO SWEDEN!!
Why are they only aiming for each others shields, isnt this meant to be a fight?

normally fighters without helmets mustnt fight.

And they face the shield as target not the enemy
