  • a luthier in my country makes you a guitar muh better than a rasmus for only $800

  • chubbydidge makes a good point! Going down to Mexico, priceless! Great review, great chops, loved it!

  • @TheBluesyPea Sweet! Cheers bud :)

  • good to see someone throw some Down To Mexico in a demo vid. Extra popularity points for that one ;-)

  • Did you say stainless steel frets?

  • @expressyourselfist I did, slip of the tongue. I meant to say nickel.

  • @testing123reviews Hey Josh, great playing (as usual!) and nice review, but would you say that this guitar is more versatile than a USA Fender deluxe strat? Thanks! :)

  • @JamieMoggridge Thanks dude :) I think it is a very versatile guitar, USA Deluxes are great but I can't hear the benefits of the S1 switch. The 5 way switch on the Rasmus enables you to get a wide variety of tones, the pickups sound great, from Hendrixian clean tones to shredding modern rock it can do a lot.

  • @testing123reviews Okay, yeah well i am in confusion by the s1 switch, but it's either this, the strat, or one of those new Gibson custom les paul's with like a baked maple neck? Just a bit worried about the rasmus as they're not like a big make or anything, like suhr or fender, are they still quality guitars?

  • @JamieMoggridge The Rasmus guitars are well built, they play really well and sound fantastic. The Strat and the Rasmus are kind of similar, but the Les Paul Custom Classic is a different beast. What guitars do you have at the moment?

  • @testing123reviews i have a sterling ax40 and im selling an ibanez prestige and a prs se custom 24, i love the sweet sound of the single coils, i love blues, jazz, rock, funk and even some metal, but i also love the growl and agressiveness of blues by Joe Bonammassa on his les paul, :/

  • @JamieMoggridge Well for all of those styles, I think the USA Deluxe Strat or the Rasmus are both good all rounders.

  • @testing123reviews Okay, are there any other guitars that you would suggest that maybe aren't as well known for under £2000? I know there's a lotta decent PRS's, but they're all sooo expensive

  • @JamieMoggridge I think the best suggestion I can make is look into Warmoth guitars. You can go on their website and spec out the body and neck and create your own custom guitar. I have 3 Warmoth's and they are amazing! My latest one is a Tele with humbuckers and I haven't stopped playing it since I finished building it in late August. Check out the demo I did on my channel.

  • nice down to mexico haha

  • superb review and guitar playing.

  • @zola116 Thanks a lot for the comment, I really appreciate it.

  • Thanks a lot for a very fine demo! Would love to know if the Shiva is an amp that sounds also good at bedroom volumes.

  • @Azoresification Thanks for the comment. The Shiva does sound great at lower volumes, I think it might be too loud for bedroom use.

  • @Azoresification But you can always get an attenuator to get a great cranked tone at a lower volume.

  • @testing123reviews

    Thanks a lot for answering!!

  • Sounds awesome man,

    Guitar & amp.

  • @bobkat321 Cheers dude :)

  • What should I do to get my playing as even and clean as yours?

I'm already pretty good, but I really want to increase my playing quality.

  • @hospitalhunting What has been working for me recently is playing less gain and no delay or reverb, also trying to use softer pick attack so that everything is more fluid. And of course using the old faithful metronome.

Hopefully that helps. If you would like me to break down my technique in a video, I'd be happy to do so.

    Cheers

    Josh

  • Not sure about the steel frets, but everything seems accurate. Sounds great, too!

  • @organs Stainless steel are pretty good, they last longer than normal fret materials.

  • @testing123reviews Well, yeah. Most of us won't wear out nickel frets in our lifetimes. But I meant I don't think they put steel frets on the Rasmus models.

  • @organs Oh ok my bad dude, thanks for the correction :)

    Josh

  • Josh, how is the Rasmus compared to a Suhr? (as far as quality and playabilty is concerned?)

Thanks for a great demo as usual

  • @lettmusic Honestly, it is just as good as a Suhr. While I was at the store, I tried a Suhr Modern back to back with the Rasmus Modern and they played great and sounded amazing. I would have quite happily left the store with the Rasmus.

  • Down To Mexico! Yeah!

  • Man, that amp sounds amazing!

  • Trem seems super smooth.

  • Did u go to school for music, or just play a lot?

  • @gamergeek3000 I went to the Academy of Contemporary Music for 4 years and played a lot :)

  • @testing123reviews Looking online and that school looks so freaking amazing.

  • what kind of bridge is that?

  • @gamergeek3000 It is a Gotoh 510 bridge.
