2.around my body anyhow, it would NOT be a "Sari" it would be a "Sari" material wrapped around my body,the same thing with a "Gele". If it lacks the flair, grace and style of a "Gele" then sorry it's not one. Call it anything but that as it's a very poor and substandard attempt at emulation of a beautiful fashion culture.

"Gele" is a Yoruba term for this art form, so if it's not done to their specification, don't use the term..simple!

When Nigerians tie 'gele', they have a style,flair,and definition! these are just wrapped anyhow, and don't look stylish at all!

But you seem to ignore the diversity of the world in terms of what "style" means to any culture. Your Nigerian way of doing the gele can also lack style to a Sierra Leonean. Fashion is not a one-size fit all.

@LeoneClub My point is if you are going to emulate and take the name of something, do it properly. It would have been better to just call this Sierra Leon style head wrap, not "Gele", as this does not represent the flair,grace and elegance of a "Gele".

@LeoneClub 'Gele ' is exclusive to the Yoruba women and any other claim is an imitation. However, we will proudly share this culture with our Saro people, especially the Krios. after all, we are all related. Do you have a Yoruba name LeoneClub?
