  • You can run up to them to engage in melee, and still surprise them. You need two combat runs: first to hide behind a side wall pillar halfway, then to the bottom of a spiral staircase. Set yourself, initiate combat, and run up.

I like to walk out and do the Earthshaker bomb plus a blizzard spell - wipes out all the cultists before they can summon any elementals. Then it's just 3 big baddies. (Not my ideas - I forget where I got them from.)

  • What exactly does quicksand do? I can't seem to recall ever using it.

  • It attempts to kill all enemies in range by conjuring a pool of quicksand underneath them. Works great on batches of weak enemies, usually not worth it on equal or strong baddies.

  • Yeah, I tried that once too.

Once the Death Wishes started breaking through, it turned into a desperate run for my life.

My best success has been a combat sneak to catch their attention, then just wait until they reach the entrance.

Catching them by surprise in the first round is very helpful.

  • I was hoping the lava lamp would lure them before combat started, but that only grabbed a few.

  • Now that I think on it, I should have tried a combat charge and try to get into melee fast.

  • If you can get the Death Lords or the Sorc in melee, you can sometimes avoid their spells in exchange for some nasty physical attacks... that are usually not as bad as the magic.
