you guys are tryin to all act like you killed us when all that happened is your kicker got lucky......this is FOOTBALL not soccer. no one cares about a good kicker
@skankinscott182 we dominated you guys, even before the kick. the only momentum u guys ever got was the fake field goal that went bad. shut up, alex henery could probably beat you at everything u thought u were good at
No, it's not a cadence. It's a cheer. How do I know? I was there when it was written back in the mid 80s. If it's one of the best cheers you've ever heard, then you need to get out more.
By the way, it's a cadence...How do I know? I'm on the drumline at UNL. It's "Dutch Boy" into "Lights Out". When people hear the bass drum runs of "Dutch Boy" then the groove of "Lights Out", they know the band is coming. It's called tradition..."Band Song"/"Hail", "Dutch Boy"/"Lights Out", "GO BIG RED"s, tunnel walk...get the point? People love it.
Genius, I know the routine. I was there when it was conceived. The thing is, Dutch Boy isn't played in this clip (except for the last 2 beats, big woop), only Lights Out, which is more a cheer than a cadence.
I know, time for some new meat. I've spoken with so many band alumni and they've said, "when will they come up with something new? Is there no originality or a writer that can come up with something new?"
Then I guess you guys are talking to the wrong people. All I hear is complements. There are 3 cadences that will remain in the cadence sequence year in and year out. If you don't like it, then stop listening...but please do continue to whine about it.
You're the one whining, junior. As far as the "wrong people", haven't found 1 alum that still loves to hear it. Oh, and the alumni outnumber your current line.
BTW - My brother is an alum of the NU drummline. Even he said, "time to get something new. Terry, Todd and Larry would think so, too." Oh, sorry, you don't know who they are, do you.
Well I don't know who Todd and Larry are but I do know who Terry is. He was still around as an instructor during my era ('89). Maybe you should let them speak for themselves. I haven't heard anyone complaining except you.
If you're not getting heated, then you wouldn't be replying. It's just my opinion. You can like it or not. Guess what...you're entitled to your opinion, as well.
So, either get heated and reply, or feel it's no big deal and keep quiet.
I was in the front line of this marching band shot.

They can speak for themselves just like I am. Not saying I'm complaining, just a tired cadence.
24Lancelot 4 years ago
Thing is bud, the fans enjoy the heck out of the cadence. That is what matters. It's a performance.
Restnessizzle 3 years ago
It's a performance? NO SHIT?

Thanks for agreeing with my post.

No problem, Capt. Obvious! If I wasn't a member of the group for 6 years, I never would have known.
24Lancelot 3 years ago
That means you have more bearing over what the fans should like?
Quit getting so heated about the past man.
