  • what class is it?

  • A T-1 4-6-0

  • This one is soon to be bought by Niles Canyon Railway for restoration. They plan to restore it to operating condition once they have it.

  • Sorry for the late response but that would be hella sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

must go and see it if it happens.

  • I hope so :-) Right now, Niles Canyon is trying to save up the money to do it. Amazingly enough, it would only cost them $10,000 for both the engine and moving it.

I know man! The very first time I saw it leaving Railfair train show in November 2009, I knew she had to run again. I can't wait to see her run again, and she'd fit right in at Niles. I mean, she IS a SP locomotive, and that's what Niles needs right now for themselves. SP 2472 isn't owned by them and is very lonely being the only SP steamer in the canyon.

  • really how did u find that out i volunteer there i heard that but im pretty sure that wont be for a while but we do intend to do that

  • Turns out that Niles Canyon took a good look at the engine to see what kind of shape it was in. Unfortunately, its too far gone. PLA won't be getting it after all :(

  • what its in bad shape u said

  • dude i wish it was running with its sister engine 2248 in grapevine. Grapevine almost got it if it werent for you guys wanting to keep it there.

  • If anything I'll restore it and donate it to the California State Railroad Museum, or have it in private ownership at my house and take to Grapevine to doublehead with Puffy.

  • Nice engine.
