Great music. PUGutierrez has NO understanding about individual pianist's interpretation of a piece of music. and Mendelssohn? Asian? So racist and you can never be a pianist, just a woodchopper of some sort.
@stevenwins2012 You surely know nothing about the music understandings, when you've grown up with a background music of your culture, it gets in blood to ones as it can't get in theory to others, that's why i refered to Asian as I would suck to it. Anyway, as said ahead, I will demonstrate about what I said about the piece, a piece that I've been playing for a while, not racist a bit, when you get to play this sort of things, you'll see what its to talk about concertist level.
(I woud be pathetic at playing Asian music, or at least, I would play it with real mediocrity, it's totally understandable, it's all about tradition, it's hard to feel something you haven't born with, or more likely, it's easier to feel the style what you've born with, but at the same time, it closes doors to others styles, if you're not lucky enough to have at your reach the music of all the world, by saying ''lucky'' I'm talking about country, political situation, parents...)
@PUGutierrez The interpretation by Mr. Nagai is simply superlative.
PUGutierrez, I bet if you were blindfolded you couldn't even tell the difference between a piano and a guitar. Why don't YOU upload a video and show us how it is done?
@atchicago1 Give me 3 months, i'm getting on piano again, runned out of pianos from some months ago and couldn't study even 3 hours per day, but no worries, i'm fixing it, and I haven't lost my touch ;D (I don't like to talk nonsense, what I've said about this rachmaninoff piece it's because I've played it, but words won't make as acts will do, I know it.)
( I won't say a thing about the guitar and piano comment, Im not in high degree ABRSM to feel attacked by such stupidity.)
I don't know if it's him and the fact that outern people are less likely to understand a stranger kind of music by a lack of tradition, or the sound quality, but he gives me no sensation, I'm pianist and I play it, but (of course, it is and advantage) I've been born and grown in Europe... This song was meant to give a sensation of flowing water by the ternarious style, and the melody at the right hand is voice and every movement the Gondellier makes... Hear at Baremboim, that is the softness.
