USC didnt gain a lot of yardage on the buckeyes they really benefited from about 5 big plays. I would have thought sanchez had a lot more than 172 yards passing. The OSU offense was just so bad it put the defense in terrible situations.

They gained yards at will, almost 200 yds rushing. Mcknight only carried the ball 12 times for 106 yds. SC called off the dogs halfway thru the 3rd quarter. Sanchez was on the bench all of the 4th. SC could have gained 500 if they wished....no need! SC is better this year the whole O line is back, if OSU doesnt have speedy linebackers it will be a long afternoon for them trying to stop the cardinal and gold herd.

i live in texas so i am on no side here. personally i think ohio state is going to win come september 09. the stadium up there is louder than any in the country, which usc has never dealt with a loud stadium. terelle pryor has put on 20 lbs of muscle and his throwing has improved. osu will actually have a balanced offense because they have a running back this year.

Then you haven't seen many QB's play...he's better than you think. He lacked zip on the ball his frosh year, but he came from playing small time football in high school; so what do you expect? He stepped in and knew the limitations of his arm, and he didn't try to do too much with it. An off season of adding 8-10 lbs of muscle and working extremely hard on his arm has added zip to his throws. Just wait...

Bucknut46...I am the owner/operator of a football scouting service NSS. I have seen 1000's of QB's at every level. Son there are certain god given abilities which cannot be taught, one of them is throwing, yes, you can improve mechanics and zip but a god given thrower is just that. He's a great athlete no doubt but as I said a TERRIBLE passer. Early Sept. will be a test which he will fail miserably. I've watched Sanchez since 8th grade there was never any doubt he could throw. The thing is, how are you saying this when the kid is a freshman? V Young started to show flashes of greatness mid sophomore year. TP did a fabulous job as a FRESHMAN 3 games into the season. AGAIN, I do not hate the kid...he is a great athlete. His success will never be based on his throwing talents. At the college level he will set up short dinky passes due to his run threat. And that will be agaisnt lesser opp. OSU DOES NOT beat anybody any good out of conference in the last 6-7 yrs. I attended the SC-OSU game last year, Im sure you know when at a game physically the speed diff. is much more profound...SC has NFL speed, OSU is more like a great SOCAL high school program speed wise

DUDE!!!! I dont hate OSU they are a classic college football program! You know as well as I in the past 6-7 yrs they have had big problems with speed teams, as does all of the big 10, 1-6 in bowl games. I really wasnt refering to wins agaisnt okst or nd. In the last 20 yrs OSU is 7-12 in bowls....not good. OKU is 6-9 not good but better. OSU is 18-22 in bowls lifetime. Southern Cal is 31-15 in bowls lifetime, thats good. Those are facts, I dont hate OSU, they need speed.

Yes they are a great program. Vince Young is another who was a great athlete but a very marginal passer (as his stint in the NFL has proved) as was Mike Vick. Pryor will have a very, very, very, tough afternoon agaisnt SC in Sept. SC is rebuilding at alot of key spots and OSU might beat...But it will be with D, OSU wont score a whole bunch but maybe enough. I watched Corp play all thru High school. he is a great athlete also but tends to get a little out of control, he will a a tough afternoon

Im a buckeye fan myself and ohio state doesnt have speed and its because we are in the

big-10. The big 10 isnt built for speed.. speed doesnt matter when there are 6 inches of snow on the ground. You need power in that weather and ohio state has power but no speed.
