  • Derrick kind of looks like Carson Daly.

  • r.i.p. derrick!!! hook em' \m/ bro

  • badass drummer

    lagwagon and bad astronaut...RKL too

  • RIP

  • that picture is with fat mike

  • i went ahead and looked it up, because derrick was not in rkl for a few years before he died. the last big rkl tour with derrick was 2002. Rkl had a different drummer in their last shows in 04. The last music thing he was involved in was something called JAWS and I dont believe they played live in belgium Im not sure they did play live.

  • if you saw derrick in 2005, i believe he killed himself in feb. He had a broken hip and was using a wheel chair. So thats not the year.... I think in 2004 he did shows with rkl. That would be the band.

  • someone asked how tall he was. He was shorter than average. About 5 6 I would say. Joey cape is about 5 6 too chris flippins i think is 6 7 shawn dewey is like 6 4

  • punk rock beats tend to be repetitive and one dimentional, but derrick crushed everything I thought I kew about punk rock drumming.

  • Mr. Coffee was a great drum song. DAMN!!!! Seriously, damn.

  • I get all choked up when I listen toHOSS. He was a great drummer!

  • How tall was he?

  • The picture at 1:00, is that Fat Mike on the left?

  • I got emotional listening to all of Hoss last night. Derrick is definitely someone who deserved much better than he got, and should still be around making beautiful music.

  • the pic on 1.12, i remember him looking like that i think

  • i have a question, im pretty sure i've seen him play in the periode of 2003-2005 on a belgian festival, not sure tho, but i cant seem to find wich band it could have been

i saw lagwagon and the ataris in 2003 but he left those way earlier (unless he stepped in as subsitute on a tour) i saw mad caddies in 2003or 04 but cant find any data on when he played for them, quite sure i never saw rkl or bad astronaut tho, can anyone help me with this?

also, who is this 'friday' in door nails by nofx?

  • @Elfop1ccolo He could be playing for RKL in that period; I'm not pretty sure...

  • bye for now Derrick

  • Gracias por tu buena musica, descansa en paz

  • very good video. saludo desde argentina

  • all people remember you..rip

  • Noble End is my fave

  • @PsychoNeighbor The fastest drum ever

  • R.I.P. Derrick from Quebec Canada - I grew up with you're music - feels like a huge loss to me - will never forget you - hold on tight Joey

  • RIP Derrick.

I wish we could replace Lady Gaga with Derrick, he deserves to be alive much more than her.

  • @HANK0000 i second that, third and fourth it too

  • what a bummer.... saw bad astronaut the other day and he was def missed

  • :-)

  • We miss him so much...

  • He was the coolest looking one!! How gay that happened!!!

  • the best hardcore drummer

  • Seriously, Derrick was probably THE most talented punk drummer EVER.

    RIP Derrick

  • where derrick now?her still alive?

  • this song is simply amazing!!! i never heard so much emotion desperation and memories at the same time in a single song!!!

  • R.I.P DERRICK from italy

  • R.I.P. Derrick, you were awesome.

  • 1:02 haha fat mike

  • The drums in "Beer Goggles" and "Bad Moon Rising" are just ridiculously bad ass.

Super innovative for punk at the time.

  • derrick is amazing..id kill to have half of his skills..my name is derrick too..so maybe that counts haha

  • @krevo81 and rifle and lazy have some sick drum sections, all of rifle is amazing on drums

  • @krevo81 yeah dude. bigtime. Mr. coffee kicks ass too.

  • @muddwell

true, those live versions of mr coffee kick ass

  • R.I.P. DERRICK, WE MISS YOU! <3

  • queria que bajes a peru y hagas una tocada con todo lagwagon, para verlos en vivo, pero bueno, tu amigo joeycape bajara a peru mañana. Solo espero que estees donde estees sigas rompiendo esa teba como siempre lo hiciste.

    Q.D.E. - R.I.P.

  • How call this song??

  • Sad Astronaut

  • Lagwagon has been one of my favorite bands since 2000. I recently started to get into RKL too, but never knew the history of the bands. Heartbreaking. The drum beat is what gets me into most songs, and to find out he's dead is a bummer. Having also mental health issues and playing drums, the guy is a real inspiration. RIP.

  • Derrick! youre the man! u will always be my fav drumer! you are missed!

  • I never got to see him live, but my friend saw Lagwagon in Colorado around the late 90's time. she was on the side of the stage and said derrick was drumming with his shoes off, and she couldn't believe how fast and perfect he was playing. she stood there the whole show watching him in a trance.

  • aw man..

i wasent even deep into lagwagon when he died.. so i didnt know about his death.. knowing what this song is about.. i relate so well..

this sucks, i didnt even know the guy and i'm tearing up.

  • what a deep song... makes me chicken skin...

lagwagon is so great... and so was mr plourde...

rip derrick... you will never EVER be replaced

  • You were still alive, even as a sad astronaut

  • I think I'm gonna cry.. R.I.P Derrick :'(

  • RIP MOFO

this dude lived a few blocks away from me (in santa barbara)

  • R.I.P.

  • was that him skateboarding?

  • You were still alive even as a sad astronaut

    RIP Derrick Plourde 1971 - 2005

  • excellent video

    RIP Derrick Plourde 1971 - 2005

  • RIP

  • this guy was pure talent...

so sad he had to go like that.all i can say is, wherever u are may u make more and more potential drummers feel worthless in the years to come

*here i come to save the day,on legal speed the american way*

  • Sorry, but does anyone know the reason of suicide?

  • he was stucked on drugs...also, he was bipolar. tragic!!!!!

  • bipolar/drugs......it was still unexpected I actualy didn't know he died till 3 years later when I finaly heard the NOFX song... RIP

  • congratz man! very good job :)

  • RIP Derrick. You were the best out there.

  • awesome tribute for an awesome drummer.

  • He was an excellent drummer. I'll miss him RIP Derrick.

  • damn man...i cant stand it...love u always man....i shed a tear

  • Derrick may be gone but his music will live on forever. Rest in peace brother

  • I first heard lagwagon on the "can of pork" comp from look out records, he became one of my favorite drummers instantly, he was probably the first very technical melodic punk drummer i heard,I have to agree with xkatharosx the music is not the same. you have to actually listen to the old bands to hear that music now a days. I got to see lagwagon with derrick twice in austin tx. after derrick lagwagon didn't sound the same, one more comment, did you know that he was the ataris first drummer.

  • yeah i didnt know he was in the ataris too, thats really cool.

  • Rest In Peace

  • amazing drummer. RIP

  • DIDNT KNOW THIS.... because im not anymore in lagwagon....but he influenced me a lot as a drummer , i still love the thrashed and the duh album. great drumming.... and i miss this days in the 90s... sorry butt melodic punk and hardcore isnt the same anymore.... but thats not theme now.

Rest in Peace... My first drum book still writes "best drummer, derrick from lagwagon". Put it on it when i went to school 15 years ago.

    Bless

  • Lagwagon's Duh and Trashed albums have some of the most mind-bottling drums and tempo changes ever. Great drummer!!

  • I miss him he was the best i never forget you derrick and protect lag from a far :( rest in peace buddy

  • I'll miss him.... he was playing very good :(

by the way the music is suitable for it wht's the name of it?????

  • stillgetaway. jesus sucked my cock while i was rockin'. take your stupid "jesus thing" elsewhere. we lost a great part of california.
