  • that was great!

  • Thanks!

  • Very Good!!! My friend.

    Naudo Rodrigues.

  • Thanks! I tell everyone that you need to visit NAUDOPRD's site. He is a fabulous guitarist! SR

  • This is good stuff. I know what it's like trying to find something to hold on to to remember a lost loved one. It gives the song a lot more meaning.

  • Thanks! I appreciate the comment. I know you're a young man, but remember this: memories will be very valuable when you grow older. Enjoy the good times and when you have children, pass on good things to them, i.e. a song. :) SR

  • Another listen...Awesome bro

    Rocket

  • Thanks, Rocket! I like the song. I know you liked my song, SOMETIMES. Isn't it so true how important songs are to us? As the song goes, A SIMPLE MELODY MAKES 'EM HAPPY FOR A LITTLE WHILE. When mom was dying she wanted me to sing A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE. I did so as she drew her last breath. Amazing! This thing called music! SR

  • Hello sir, I just sent you a message on some of my findings, hope they help you in your search.

  • "Devil and the Farmers Wife" is the one that is most closely related to this song. This is just a different variation. As stated in the message I'm still looking for any signs of this version. "VERSE 4 Then, take 'er, o take 'er with all my heart Hi-o-hey An' hope from you she never will part Come, falter-a-diddle-la-day VERSE 5 One little Devil cried, lift me up higher Hi-o-hey She up, with her foot an' kicked 'im in th fire Come, falter-a-diddle-la-day"
  • OMG! After all these years, I finally find out where it originated. You really made my day! Even though I know how the song originally went... don't worry mom, I'll keep it just the way you taught it to me, mistakes and all! God Bless, Stephen Robison, Sr.

  • Thanks!

  • I'll find out. ;)

I'll let you know what song it is, but it sounds really old.

  • thanks!

  • I never heard this song before Steve, but man it's very good

    Rob

  • Thanks, man! So do you and your wife.

  • Sounds like 1800s vintage. You may never know who wrote it, but it's worth keeping alive!

  • Amen! That's why I'm putting it here :)

  • five stars from me too!!!! :-)

  • Thanks so much! I love the original chord arrangements you come up with!

  • Steve Jr. and I listened to this song very carfully last night. God as my witness, I was alone when singing this song, and no wom,an's voice was dubbed in, but in listening to this song over and over again, it sounds as though a woman is singing harmony very softly. I would like to think it is mom singing with me :) God Bless You All! SR

  • Dropping five stars here!

  • Thanks Patman! Have you ever heard this song? Trying to find out who wrote it. Maybe everyone who hears this song can do a search. I have been trying for 40 years! SR

  • You always do a great performance!

  • I appreciate that! Maybe someone will know. I've asked musicians and none know where this song originated. I'm begining to think mom may have written it.

  • Yea, mom was 87 when she died. She was from Arkansas. She taught me a few more songs; old ones! I might do some of them. You know something... tim,e with the family is important. The older I get, the more I realize this. SR
