  • How an AMD looks from the inside...

  • And that's how aperture started

  • I spend 3 years in studying intel's and AMD's Microprocessors

  • Next is Fab 42, the answer to the ultimate question of the universe, life, and everything.

  • "There are more than 568 miles of wiring"

This is enough to stretch 6/7 from Chicago to Memphis.

  • haha no. I just said that to be silly.

  • Looks like Terminator

  • Atchooo! FUCK!

  • The whole factory is running on AMD processors.

  • @BeefCaike wow

  • @yaboiiangel12 haha, i just said that cause it was funny. I still love my Intel cpus!

  • @BeefCaike really ?

  • Every PC I buy have a Intel chip in it.

  • We need to reach every factory and make sure what their doing is environmentally safe and stringent on Health and Safety codes.

  • Amazing that you need a building that large to make something you can fit on the tip of you finger

  • I the near future it will come to the point were a foreign molecule will be able to damage a CPU.

  • And I put dirty copper, filled with water on this LMAO!

  • blablablablablabla just tell me why intel i7 cant play full hd and why can a tegra2 play full hd? and a tegra3 even plays quadhd videos. Intelchips are junk and they should never called soc chips, because they are not really soc, they are still cpus.

  • @tellthetruthyoumoron the tegra chips ar gpu desing made and optimised for video

i7 cpu ave to interact wit the videocard to do the decoding and the codect and the soft ware

tegra is like (cpu+gpu+video card controle ) all in one les manipulation =more performence

  • blablablablablabla just tell me why intel i7 cant play full hd and why can a tegra2 play full hd? and a tegra3 even plays quadhd videos. Intelchips are junk and they should never called soc chips, because they are not really soc, they are still cpus.

  • I hope my room is this clean.

  • Why do they wear hazard suits? :O

  • i still don't understand why the cores are on a circular platter

  • i took him seriously until 3:49 when he said "ruf"

  • the guy @ 1:02 has the same name as the inventor of coca cola. :)

  • this must be the only place in the world with clean public bathrooms.

  • Now do it by hand

  • and who made the micoprocessors in the robots?

  • I love you, Intel-- but I want in on this cult. :)

  • Ahhh, a semiconductor fabrication plant. Where complex machines running on computer chips make new computer chips. Silicon "spawning". Robot "procreation". Machines making new "machines". Can anyone say, "Terminator"?

  • @circuitdesign lawl

  • @circuitdesign Except, without humans to operate and maintain them, they can't do shit.

  • Sweet! I hope 11x in Rio Rancho, NM is just as interesting! I will find out in October on day 1 when I start working.

  • comment pending approval

  • Semiconductor factories look like hospitals xD

  • u noe wat's smaller? atoms try to make them

  • micron = one- millionth of a meter

    nanometer = one-billionth of a meter

therefore a nanometer is equal to 0.001 microns

so 45 nanometers = 0.045 microns (not 0.45 rounded up) so what is fab construction certification

  • plus after the artice i read where apollo was trying to grow whole chips of diamond from a single seed with cvd they developed an easier method of coating the surface of another material with many smaller diamond, a diamond coating that could be used for semiconductors, and there have been major advancement in graphene since then too,the apollo process was secret and proprietary, there plan was to make gem stones and sell them on the gem market to finance a branching out to semiconductors

  • @voyanger but the diamond chips were supposed to be here by now,i think they factores in cost in that estimate, plus the method that the apolo company was using to make the diamond wafers was not that expensive, it uses the cvd or chemical vapor deposition method, not methods that require massive heat and pressure like ge's industrial diamond production method ,or gemesis method, that produced gem qualtiy stones like appolo does, plus graphene is supposed to be really really cheap

  • why dont we integrate these transistors into ours brain

    That would be great

  • why are they doing stretches at 6:23?

  • battlefield 3 will melt this chips!

  • so do they make a new factory everytime a new technology comes out? :P

  • oh the projection in the article was 5 to 10 years ,i think it was in wired magazine and it talked about a company that was top secret and clandestine because of debeers spies ,called appolo diamond located in boston MA

but the projected time we would see these was 5 to 10 years so where are they?

i know there have been major breakthroughs and discoveries in graphene since the article was written

  • besides i read almost 10yrs ago that we have reached the limit of where silicon can take us & in this article they said we would have abandon silicon manufacture in exchange for diamond based chips because they can handle much higher temps & therefor pack the transistors much closer ,but seems that graphene is cheaper and maybe even better now, so why do they keep building silicon facilities?why not graphene or diamond?where are these diamond and/or graphene super processors?when do we see them?

  • @bulletproof2353 Well there is the major factor you overlooked - cost. Diamond and graphene are very and prohibitively expensive whereas silicon is made from quartz sand and is literally dirt cheap. Sure diamond can resist more heat, however companies aim to decrease waste heat for efficiency, environmental and cooling reasons, remember prescott? AMD doesn't suck it is a competitor that keeps the prices of CPUs affordable to us consumers, also that video you saw is old, AMD fixed it ages ago.

  • amd is crap , there is a video on here where they take the cooling and heatsins away from processors and then run intensive programs an the cpu and watch hw log it takws for them to crash of have a catastrophic failure, and the intel chip mostly just crach ,but all the amd chips in the video explode or smoke or catch on fire almost immediately ,the intel chips last like 10 times longer and didnt have the catastrophic fail in all cases like the amd did

  • Interesting how he said "ALMOST all the groups" at the end lol

  • @AdamRan lol I thought i was the only one that noticed xD

  • 24/7 shift-work in a windowless factory with high-stakes and lots of stress. Sounds like fun.

  • @yTubeBlowsBigBalls that blows your balls big

  • @yTubeBlowsBigBalls but thats not all! they're building one in china so now there's lower pay!

  • @yTubeBlowsBigBalls I do this day in day out.

  • @ftheriachab My condolences. I hope they treat you well!

  • @yTubeBlowsBigBalls It's the IT military life... Wherever I go, I'm guaranteed to never see the light of day while I work.

  • You can always steal the new processors and Motherboards!

  • that amazing!

  • the job looks cool and all but id rather play games for 12 hrs a day.

  • and this is how you make money,

    1 CPU = about 200$

  • @USFullOfLies Or, 1 Xeon Processor = $4600

  • just get a amd save u at least 200$

  • @BassPounderX And a crappy processor compared to Sandyballs... Everybody knows i7 and i5's beat AMD's 6 cores

  • Ahhhhh Yes...My daily dose of Geek Porn! Love Intel.

  • KKK clan meeting 2:05

  • Amd sucks

  • @Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1 login must be a pain for you xD

  • 47 likes AMD

  • All this just to play games. XD

  • @PirateKing1256 ...or to watch pron. =)

  • @PirateKing1256 to play crysis

  • @PirateKing1256 and make datacenters like google for making a lot of money)

  • @PirateKing1256 LoL, yup. AND use a cellphone, drive a car, fly in a plane, watch TV use your Mp3 player etc. a whole host of devices and machines now contain a Microprocessor.

  • @1MtnBoy I KNOWWWWwww.....

  • @PirateKing1256 lolololololololololol true

  • @PirateKing1256 Not really. its power is used for recording live tv in real time, recording live radio in real time. animation, CAD editing, and graphic design/programming. Games aren't the only thing that demands cpu power. :)

  • @xjojox1989 He's making a joke. Relax. ;D

  • Damn, Intel. Y'all make me glad I bought a i7 980X CPU! Quit hatin', dirt poor AMD kids.

  • @Phenomental1ty

    You're right

My six core Phenom II was only 800 bucks cheaper damn

  • Still can't beat Aperture Science! :)

  • @Kostralia are you saying that glados isn't running on intel processors?

  • fap construction?

    /fapfapfap

  • @TheLegomasterdx i'm sorry :\

  • @TheLegomasterdx i'm sorry :|

  • HOLY!

  • @TheLegomasterdx this video is 4 years old..

  • @3Target33 So?

  • @TheLegomasterdx theres newer technology already :\

  • *yawn* mine is 32nm :D

  • It's not 45nm chip factory -.- It's a 32nm factory :)

  • but will it blend?

  • 3billion can feed millions starving people around the world. :(

  • @iBlackz Feeding them isn't enough, it's a temporary solution. We need long-term solutions.

  • 2:25 my dell keyboard xD xD intel stolen at the dell factory :P

  • Now I feel really bad for punching a hole through my P4 to use it as a keyring.

  • i want an amd cup now

  • @nuthenry2 You're gonna get inferior performance

  • Skynet is better

  • the emergency response team are the best ; u noticed the guy in the middle with the helmet on? I bet he's playing DoD!!

  • This is what I originally imagined Aperture Science to be like...

  • @Kostralia GLaDOS Powered by Intel Inside

  • they have the best cpu cooler in the world the "MAH"

  • This whole thing sort of gives me an idea that the micro-processing came from extraterrestrial intelligence.

  • @4illegalalien you are retarded

  • @4illegalalien No, that's just Intel making everything more complicated than it really is. i.e., Intel is gay.

  • @4illegalalien No not really

  • @4illegalalien Kinda insulting you underestimate the capacity of engineers :(

  • @4illegalalien Would have been much easier if you just said that you are just dumb.

  • @4illegalalien Like people were smart enough to discover the electron, but they had to ask ET for help to create some very small devices.Just give human race the credits it deserves.

  • @4illegalalien I know, lmao ! I cant believe the machines can make layers so freakin thin......the only thing I can compare it to to wrap my little pea-brain around this whole process is: metal-spray welding, some types of EMD welding use the same procedures but this is taking it to a whole new level..............

  • @4illegalalien why? it just takes a lot of ideas and effort.

  • are these the guys who made the faulty cougar point chipsets? :P

  • I love that they have a "Ball room" :P

  • Hats off to you super brains, but AMD makes chips that work, and are much cheaper.....

  • @Anandaxp Your right. Intel spends BILLIONS on chips that dont work. I'm sure that is their goal. To spend crazy amounts of money to making things that dont work. Even though Intel chips are in 80% of anything that needs computing. If there are hundreds of thousands of products using an Intel chip compared to an AMD, of course more chips are going to fail. Just like it shows that you failed basic math.

  • @xxsekoxx what ever..... I bought an i5 last week.....

  • @Anandaxp Right on

  • I work at Flextronics Romania ( Timisoara )

And i love if Intel will open A factory in Romania :X

  • Black Mesa is a bigger building

  • how the f*ck can you create something that small?? WTF?!

  • @Lukaz1989 Lol, we're getting 22nm ones soon.

  • @Lukaz1989 Watch the video by AMD "from sand to chip" - it's easier than you might think and very clever :) They basically project an image on the silicon surface, it's like printing a picture back in the film photography days. So it's not like they cut out all those small transistors with a super small tool :) They use UV light, I just checked it can have a wavelength of around 10nm, below that it's considered to be x-rays, but there's no real boundary of course.

  • And because of all that eye candy they price their CPU's at ridiculous prices. As long as it can't render my brain outside my skull it's not worth 1000$.

  • THE TERMINATOR PRODUCTION IS IN SECTOR 12 DEEP UNDER ON THIS FACTORY.

  • How man transistors are these baastuds able to get

    onto a chip?

  • @vaj99 731,000,000 45nm transistors on the i7 chip.

  • @recruit011 #Feint!#

  • lol 2:05... thats where the durex mascots train xD

  • These guys won't ever get laid.

  • @Shukria123 Herp derp.

  • @Dominoes282 course they do. But they dont want it to leak out so everyone can know. They just need a advanced explanation so noone starts investigating!

  • at least Intel wont overheat causing a fire...like a certain manufacturer i know...

    *caughf*AMD*caughf*

  • @kuza261

HaHa! I used to have a laptop that used an AMD processor. I could only use it for 15 minutes at a time before it shut off from overheating.

  • I laughed when at the end that douche said the process is faster and cheaper than ever before. Then why are intel chips so damn expensive? I bet hes a pain in the ass to work for or with. He talks like hes been corporate brainwashed.

  • Fab 32! Doesn't that mean they should be making 32nm chips? lol

  • @naka538 lol they make a 32nm cpu now. $1000 dollars though.

  • @daimeun32347 no.. some of the i5's and i3's are 32nm

  • @naka538 .... Yes. look at the Core i7-980X Extreme its 32nm.

  • @daimeun32347 i didn't say it wasnt..

  • Yum, I like chips.

  • Robots building robots, I dreaded that this day would come.

  • 32 NM FTW

  • @Dominoes282 o_________o

  • That's why their product is so damn expensive

  • I had to deliver to that plant once and they were checking my truck for bombs... lol!

  • @joeyalbergo Never thought about that. If that place goes down alot of computers are not being made. Interesting thought.

  • @websurfer1232 Yeah it was very noticable because I have delivered to a lot of different places and that was the first and only that used mirrors to check under the truck and all around it - even under the hood. It was wild... thanks for the reply Websurfer :)

  • I want to work there.

  • I've got a quad core pc and it rules ! What a beast!

  • 38 AMD fans. nice

  • 75 miles of condom, did i just hear that at 1.33

  • @subhendusaha its conduit

  • @subhendusaha Conduit you dolt!

  • @subhendusaha conduit newbie.

  • it's just another fab? I didn't hear anything from their video that makes it unique!

  • world best mini processor haha ...

  • I have two computers with AMD and 4 with Intels. What I like about the Intel/AMD rivalvry is the fact that they keep each other competing for my dollar and deliver me the best bang for my buck. I can't fanboy either one cause AMD or Intel, in the end probably care as much for me as I do for them. Intel Especially, does not have a right to assume that I will ever give them my 100% loyalty to their product. (Especially if their not paying me too) I have a free-will and I want CHOICE!

  • what's a ruff?

  • They keep saying 32, makes me think they were making 32nm cores...

  • @cwbh10 I think they are now.

  • 8million man hrs

chuck noris could do it in 5 mins

  • @oOcrazy95Oo no

  • @oOcrazy95Oo stupid

  • @oOcrazy95Oo wrong,more like when he blinks.

  • @oOcrazy95Oo

Are you implying that Chuck Norris equals less than 1.6 million men?

  • @Silvah777 i think he means chuck norris can do the work of 1.6 million men in 5 minutes

  • @MrOctagonapus

    Only?

  • @Silvah777 1.6 million is a fucking lot and chuck norris jokes are really annoying to me so go ask oOcrazy95Oo why he said that chuck norris can only do the work of 8 million men in 5 minutes

  • @MrOctagonapus

Then how about you shut the fuck up you bitch-faced faggot and go get raped by Chuck Norris you fucking Bieber loving, cock-gobbling, dumpster gypsy, and stop talking about shit you obviously don't know about. Yeah, that's right, I know Charles personally. We're such big buddies I get the pleasure of calling him Charles. U jelly brah. U jelly.

  • @Silvah777 wow

  • how the hell do u know witch college ur talking to..everybody is wearing white suites..and gotta suck to go to the restroom while everything has to be clean^^

  • they made all this just to make a chip?

  • @happygamestvfun1 not a chip, many chips...mmm, chips... XD and ye, fab's are cost a hell of a lot of money. TSMC is spending 9 billion on a new fab... >.>
