Masumi is with Jan because after Satoru and Sakura left, Masumi became the Chief. So until Satoru and Sakura came back from space, Masumi was with Jan.
I saw this before I was able to see the those eps. So it makes more sense now. Also, that's not Gou fighting Rio is it? That's Akashi?! I found the summary someplace. From this the two look a lot alike.

Completely agree. I started Sentai with Geki then Deka then Bouken. This movie is going to be incredible! I love the teams I mentioned but these two are my ultimate favorites. I have to say I have a definite soft spot for Masumi. Can't help it. Also Souta, Retsu, Eiji, Tetsu and Hoji. But I'm definitely drawn to (forgive me for using this) "beautiful disasters". Still working on getting through all the other series at the moment.
Hoji is Dekablue right? lol. I started Super Sentai at Mahou Sentai Magiranger. I watched the Magiranger movie and Magiranger vs. Dekaranger. Then I watched all of the Boukenger episodes. I also watched the Boukenger movie and Boukenger vs. Super Sentai. Then i watched Jyuuken Sentai Gekiranger. Now, I am going to watche Engine Sentai Go-onger.
