Very cool experiments. Any ideas as to why you might get more lift with a dielectric between the electrodes? I have been doing some experiments with lifters and asymmetrical capacitors in a home made Schlieren setup to see the airflow around and between the electrodes. I have a video on my channel. There is a lot of turbulence created there and I'm wondering is a more effeciant electrode shape would work better. Any thoughts?

I have been trying to build a lifter for a couple months now.. but haven't had much luck. currently i am using a TV as my power supply, but i plan to build a much more efficient one soon enough. my two main problems is that i keep blowing flyback transformers or lighting my lifters on fire... any suggestions?
