Motorcycle crash: Racer hit from behind (Burnout)

This isn't the McGee/Shobert incident. at Laguna. I witnessed that live, was about 100 ft from it along the inside fence between Turns 5 & 6.

This is one of the most infamous accidents ever caught on tape and you got the description as wrong as wrong can be, Romeo.

Kevin Magee was rightly ostracized by quite a few of his contemporaries after his stupidity that ended the careers of one of the most talented motorcycle racers ever.

Poor Bubba Shobert... I thnk all motorcycle racers learned something from that.

Shobert was congradulating Eddie Lawson on a third place finish, he had one of his best finnishes himself and didn't see the idiot Magee stopped in the middle of the track. Rainey won Swantz 2nd, Lawson 3rd. The competive riding ended that day for poor Bubba.

I saw the Buba Shobert cash happen. The rider that got hit tried to say he was having trouble with his bike. He was full of crap! Shobert and his friend were riding side by side bsing with each other, when Schobert turned around it was to late. All this being said the rider that stopped on the track and where he stopped on the track was wrong.

The guy getting hit didn't won the race.

This is after the race when all the riders are riding towards the pitline.

It wasn't the Supersport eather, it was the German R6 cup. They raced before the 24h Endurance race started a few moments later.

does anyone whos commented here understand racing. The race has finished, the guy does a burnout, the people coming from behind him, finished BEHIND him, and if they were backmarkers, they would also stop racing as they have been lapped. Its only if a backmarker hasn't been lapped before crossing the line that they carry on racing!

Doesn't matter dip shit. Any rider (not you) knows that you don't do that shit. (see example) and if you do, expect this. Any racing associaion prohibits stopping on the track. I wonder why. And yes I understand racing I have raced in WERA for 12 years.

Maybe they do prohibit it during a race, but riders are allowed to stop to perfrom burnouts on the track after a race has finished, which is the obvious case here. It's not even as if this was on the finish line immediately after the race, this is at Oschersleben, I recognise the track from WSB etc, that is not the start finish straight. Any rider can stop at the side of the track to do a burnout after the race is finished.
