Ammonium nitrate and 'nitro fuel' (nitromethane) is ANNM. Pretty much the same but more powerful and easyer to detonate. And no, it will never blow up while making it.

Omg and that technically wasn't contained. the only thing to give any pressure to the deflagration would have been the sheer amount and the mud and the plastic bag slightly. If that had been put into a strong metal container of some sort and then put into the mud... it would have been twice as big. That's incredibly impressive for the small amount of confinement.

There are a couple of laws of physics that when put together state that any kind of resistance applied to any kind of decomposition/explosion will cause a faster release of energy up to a certain point. it doesn't matter how small the difference is but it's always there except in extreme cases where it reaches the maximum, like that of supernovas.

Yep, about 6% fuel and 94% fertilizer. The thing is, it has to be *specifically* Ammonium nitrate, NH4NO3, or it wont work at all.

The thing is, even if you have the right fertilizer, you have to have an explosive charge to set it of with in the first place, 'cus its so damn insensitive.

I found this stuff in the hardware store called "spirit of salt" i looked it up on wiki and it turns out its HCl. it says WARNING EXTREMELY CORROSIVE!!! and other warnings. I was wondering if its concentrated enough to work for TATP. No harm in trying i guess?

Mercury fulminate is a primary with which you can make a detonator. ANFO is quite difficult to detonate, so you will need a booster charge (explosive which can be easily detonated by a detonator). In theory you could use MF as a booster but that is bloody dangerous, because of the sensitivity of MF to friction and spark in dry form.

anfo is simply amonium nitrate and fuel oil. you can use diesel for the fuel oil or keresone or even nitromethene. Anfo itself is highly explosive but difficult to detonate (as ive heard) i have not tried it and im not sure how to det it.

And they do their job.. So. Until i get more and different chems, i will make organic peroxides.

Part 1:

Same here. I don't want anyone to get hurt. Safety is the first thing we think. The Explosive is never stored, the detonator is made rigth before blasting, the detonator booster and main charge is transported in separate bags, with distans between. Battery, cam and stuff like that is also in another bag than explosive, booster or detonator. The wire is connected to the detonator first, (away from booster and main charge) then the detonator is put in boster, and booster in main charge.

And then the wire is connected to the firing box, the area is checked an secured. Then we warn with 3 loud shouts. "fire in the hole/fyr er det her/varsku her etc.." And then the blaster take an overlook at the blasting site, an after that he counts down, (loud) 3, 2, 1.... Boom :P This is our normal procedure before any blast.. (well, not the smallest ones, but you get the idea.. ;) ) Thanks, i must say the same :P I did not expect the blast to be that big. Well well, Take care :D
