20+ years ago, I saw this movie in my 2nd grade classroom. Even then, I was blown away. It brought me to tears, right there at my desk with its beauty. The Snowman is a must see for all.
can anyone help me, there used to be a simliar short wordless film like the snowman, same kind of sketch type of graphics but it was about an old woman in a gypsy caravan, it was snowy weather. she is very poor. she ends up returning to her caravan to find mysterious helpers have heated her caravan and put food in it. its driving me crazy
When i was small, i got the video of this, and a music box! It was the snowman as a plush on a wind up music box, and it played I'm flying through the air. My nan sent it me from England. (I am from Holland). I LOVED this film, never seen it since uptill now! :D (sorry for my bad Eng
I have seen this soooooo many times throughout my elementary school years and I didn't know that there was a different version with David Bowie in it. I guess youtube is a good thing to have on the internet every now and then because You would discover something new.
Does anyone remember a different version of the Little Mermaid where she drowns? I remember watching it when I was younger. I actually watched that version before I watch the Disney Version. It traumatized me lol. MY mom was so weird. She let me watch the strangest shows. lmao
Why is children's TV nowadays so lifeless and fake? This film has had nothing but love, enthusiasm and childhood memories put into it. Is that too much to ask for today?
I remember this a long time ago.I hate living in a time where animation is nothing but nonsense. It's amazing how it's all through music with no sound or dialogue.
PLEASE HELP. On a recorded VHS i had of this in the 80's my dad recorded an animation after which involved a pirate ship picture which came to life and a soldier and a ballerina I think? Pirates stole a coin from the moneybox??? I am desperate to find it so any help? Dont think it was 'brave tin soldier' or 'nutcracker' as had been suggested??
I'm not sure the bit about a pirate ship picture coming to life rings any bells, but I'll have a look around for you. Only other thing that's coming to mind at the moment with a barely similar plot is 'The Tinderbox'. If I find anything out, I'll let you know :-)
@waves14 Hi, the animation you are referring to is 'The Angel and the Soldier Boy' based on the book by Alison de Vere. It has a soundtrack by Clannad, and is absolutely brilliant. Have a search for it, it is well worth revisiting. Far better even than The Snowman in my opinion.
I remember the snowman being premier on Channel 4 way back in 1982, The first year of the channel life and it been shown on Channel 4 every christmas every since it first showing !! absolutely love this film. Thank for the upload.
Omg! I finally finds it! I've read and watch the movie when I was little my teacher read that story and we watch this in elementary school!! It's been long time since I see this til now! Thank you for uploading this!!

I used to watch this all the time with my dad and i would make him play it over and over and he would sit through it with me this brought tears to my eyes -3

I can't believe they're remaking this with a with NOTHING from this original to "freshen" it up.
No Brighton pier, no snowman party. Instead they will go to a ski resort and fly over the London eye.
Presumably they'll have og niki singing the theme.
It will probably be another pixar style soulless animation featuring the latest "celeb."
So glad I was a kid when I was. Our kids miss out on way too many timeless classics.
