  • HAHAHAH I LOLed at 7:42 his eyes on the TV haha

  • Reminds me of how magical Christmas was as a kid, used to love watching this along with Raymond Briggs Father Christmas. .... 29 yrs old now!! :)

  • Omg this brings me back to my elementry school years.

  • they should do a remake of this like Where the wild things are

  • ah the ending is so sad T_T

  • anyone else watching this on channel 4 now?

  • @JackLHay I missed it so gonna watch the rest after monsters and aliens!

  • 20+ years ago, I saw this movie in my 2nd grade classroom. Even then, I was blown away. It brought me to tears, right there at my desk with its beauty. The Snowman is a must see for all.

  • 30 people are Scrooge's ancestors!

  • The Crew broght me ^^

  • I can't believe they're remaking this with a with NOTHING from this original to "freshen" it up.

No Brighton pier, no snowman party. Instead they will go to a ski resort and fly over the London eye.

Presumably they'll have og niki singing the theme.

It will probably be another pixar style soulless animation featuring the latest "celeb."

So glad I was a kid when I was. Our kids miss out on way too many timeless classics.

  • das s**t

  • haha

  • das discusting

  • David Bowie had one crazy childhood..

  • The simple life.. without iPads.. without technology.. just pure.. home grown.. warmth of the family..

  • can anyone help me, there used to be a simliar short wordless film like the snowman, same kind of sketch type of graphics but it was about an old woman in a gypsy caravan, it was snowy weather. she is very poor. she ends up returning to her caravan to find mysterious helpers have heated her caravan and put food in it. its driving me crazy

  • *my bad English

  • When i was small, i got the video of this, and a music box! It was the snowman as a plush on a wind up music box, and it played I'm flying through the air. My nan sent it me from England. (I am from Holland). I LOVED this film, never seen it since uptill now! :D (sorry for my bad Eng

  • I shall be watching this Christmas day and yes, I shall cry, alot indeed.

  • @SadeLouYau watch it with me sweet <3

  • 28 people are Jehovah's Witnesses

  • Love this film. Every christmas eve we watch this film. It's my favourite film!!! :)

  • I have seen this soooooo many times throughout my elementary school years and I didn't know that there was a different version with David Bowie in it. I guess youtube is a good thing to have on the internet every now and then because You would discover something new.

  • Does anyone remember a different version of the Little Mermaid where she drowns? I remember watching it when I was younger. I actually watched that version before I watch the Disney Version. It traumatized me lol. MY mom was so weird. She let me watch the strangest shows. lmao

  • Why is children's TV nowadays so lifeless and fake? This film has had nothing but love, enthusiasm and childhood memories put into it. Is that too much to ask for today?

  • i wanna live where this kid lives... i have the book of this, but this movie is awesome. P.S 28 people can't make a snowman

  • I remember this a long time ago.I hate living in a time where animation is nothing but nonsense. It's amazing how it's all through music with no sound or dialogue.

  • PLEASE HELP. On a recorded VHS i had of this in the 80's my dad recorded an animation after which involved a pirate ship picture which came to life and a soldier and a ballerina I think? Pirates stole a coin from the moneybox??? I am desperate to find it so any help? Dont think it was 'brave tin soldier' or 'nutcracker' as had been suggested??

  • @waves14

I'm not sure the bit about a pirate ship picture coming to life rings any bells, but I'll have a look around for you. Only other thing that's coming to mind at the moment with a barely similar plot is 'The Tinderbox'. If I find anything out, I'll let you know :-)

  • @nicog79 Its ok I found it. The Angel and the Soldier Boy. Took me Aaaaages. Have a gander its really sweet if you have kids?

  • @waves14 The story is called the Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Anderson It is quite touching int the end

  • @waves14

Its 'The Angel and the Soldier Boy' I remember it too from when I was little.

  • @waves14 Hi, the animation you are referring to is 'The Angel and the Soldier Boy' based on the book by Alison de Vere. It has a soundtrack by Clannad, and is absolutely brilliant. Have a search for it, it is well worth revisiting. Far better even than The Snowman in my opinion.

  • @waves14 Angle and the soldier boy is what its called I used to watch it too.

  • @waves14 Adventures of Tintin?

  • Oh, hey David Bowie

  • can someone please tell me what year this was made? i used to watch it at my grandparents house when i was little

  • @234598237648

I don't think you had to have grown up in the 1970's to know who David Bowie is. One of many great British musical exports and one of the most respected and successful ever.

  • the one I remember had a different introduction

  • OMIGOD - I loved this as a kid but I had no idea David Bowie was in it! I have the most enormous crush on him; now I love this even more!

I just got done watching "The Man Who Planted Trees" and both movie are so awesome!! They use words so little but say so much.

  • I love this film. I grew up as a young child in Connecticut and used to play in the snow just like this little boy. Now as an adult living in Florida, it makes me tear up not only because of this being a beautiful magic film but it also brings back the memories of childhood playing in the snow.

  • Damn, how old was I when i first watched this ... :D

  • I loved this from when I was a little kid

  • Ahhh, the memories of the good old days. Before cartoon violence and action. This is what we were shown. This was, and still is the best childrens movie i know of...

  • @ZeaMoore4 Wasn't Tom and Jerry around at this time?

  • @MoonPhase94 Lol, yeah. That's true. They were greate too. But this is my first memory of a movie or cartoon from my childhood, so it's special..

  • @ZeaMoore4 My point was that Tom and Jerry had cartoon violence and action.

  • @MoonPhase94 That's true. But it was cartoon violance. No blood or death, just flat and painfull.... It was actualy very violent come to think of it. kids thought if you smack somone in the face with a frying pan it would look funny and no one would get hurt... Cartoons has always bin violent, and probobly will always be violent..., it's all about the entertainment....

  • @MoonPhase94 this was made in the 80's, Tom and Jerry came out first

  • @ultra3495 My point was that Tom and Jerry had cartoon violence and action.

  • @MoonPhase94 what doescartoon voilence have to do with this?

  • This movie saddens me everytime I see it. Me and my Father used to watch this every christmas. It was so easy being young, a kid.

  • Best Movie Ever! wakes up alit if memories! <3

  • My uncle and his (now ex) wife drew all the in flight animation for this movie. He's one of very few in the world who can draw like that. I lost this movie somewhere years ago during a move and am glad to see someone post it. He actually drew me a still on a notepad which vanished as well. :( Watching it for the memories. Thanks!

  • it looks like he's about to show the snowman his father's grot-mag collection...

  • i don't understand why they don't play this on tv anymore at christmas time. It just doesn't feel like christmas without the snowman.

  • i rember this it use to come on xmas day
