The coloring of the vocal line, the variety of correct emphasis in the text, and the innate ability to convey emotion, which is the heart of great Verdi singing, is all present in this performance. One of the finest singers of the last twenty-five years.
I just don't care for the way she sings Verdi. this was horribly rushed, albeit the conductor's fault, but Eva always cheats that long legato line when she sing Verdi. She is hands down best at Turandot and any number of other roles, but I prefer her to stay away from Verdi, and most especially this great aria.

You should absolutely listen to this aria by another soprano you have Karrita Mattila or the best one Teresa Zylis-Gara with a marvellous interpretation and a lovely sensitive voice.
