Now that it has been pointed out, it does remind me of Super Smash Brothers. I love this version of the song. I have Origa's Ghost songs, but her voice shines more here. So beautiful!
although many people say that turn a has a brighter theme then the previous gundams by the same director i still find turn a sad and this song has a sad feeling too it
Man, I really love this. Does anyone know any other songs that are like this? I haven't heard much from either Yoko or Origa that sounds quite like this. Can I get an mp3 of this anywhere?
a faceless pilot, inside the legendary white devil, made for intergalactic warfare, capable of destroying ships probably size of the moon and armed with the moon light butterflies. it takes a tengen toppa gurren lagann sized SUPER robot to have a chance against it. and yet instead of using it for war, the pilot tried to destroy war. imagine what he/she might have felt, watching the civilized earth crumble under his/her own hands. all that to preserve earth :<
Origa not really a stage name, its a japanese substitute for Ol'ga, since there is no "L" in japanese language.
Origa in the only way japanese people could pronounce her name.
So Ol'ga is her first name (L is soft like in "lift"), as for "Vital'evna Yakovleva" those are parts the surname/family name (Vital'evna is the surname, Yakovleva comes from Yakov, the name of her father).
@edkwon her name is olga (russian) i guess origa is just the way japanesse would say that cause japanesse usually change "l" to "r" and well origa sounds more like japanese and as she's mostly working in japan she changed olga to origa.... I guess...
@edkwon This isn't a stage name, you simply don't say "o-l-ga" in japanese but o-r-ga, therefore she could choose o-ru-ga or o-ri-ga but it's just her name whatsoever :)
While this version is very nice, I can't even put it in the same league as the Gabriela/Yoko version. Maybe it's because that's the one that I first heard, but the Yoko version just seems a bit more epic. Origa has a stunning, stunning voice, though.
This is quite possibly THE most awe inspiring song and artistic pieces I've EVER had the privilege to hear. The uniqueness and beauty of this song comes second to none. I'm glad there's not many songs like this because that allows people to see it for what it is, truly remarkable and a showcase for what musical genius sounds like.
@HEADSHOT09 It's actually a combination of two songs, both of which have the same melody, but different lyrics. These songs are Moon and Tsuki no Mayu, the former being an insert song, and the latter being the second ending song, from Turn A Gundam. A quick little note about Turn A Gundam is that it was supposed to end Gundam as a franchise...then they brought in Gundam Seed and it was terrible for most of the 00s.
@SB0083 it did do a good job doing that, brought together all of the series into one and in a good way, but if they make more good gundam series then it would be a good thing they didnt end it, seed was decent but nothing to the standards it had to compete with, i hope they go back to the basics and not have a gundam with the firepower of a battleship like the freedom or something and go bring back Nu gundam or something
@ToeCutter454 Orla is on another level just listen to how haunting her voice is in Harrys Game and Suil A Run. All the little thing she does with her voice its unreal.
Huh…. Now there’s a beautiful song; a beautiful song winged with something stirringly dignified, indeed, almost triumphant, that buoys it from beneath. (Likewise, my sentiments for the original/studio version.)
Origa's voice is unlike any I have ever had. It touches your soul and carries you away from reality. If I could listen to one song for the rest of my life it might as well be this, and Yoko Kanno is a god lol.
It's a language Gabriela Robin/Yoko Kanno made up called Gablish. She combined elements of latin, japanese, chinese, the scandanavian languages, and a few others. Basically sounds she found pleasing to use in music. I'm told it actually has a basic structure and functions like a language on its own, but I don't know for sure. When my friend and I translated this, we had a japanese version of the same song to go by.
@TheWanderingCactus Thanks, though the translation would be more impressive if I actually helped the translation process itself. He translated, I acted as an editor to make it flow better while still retaining its meaning. I was pleased when the Hero-Legends translation was pretty close to ours.
tinyurl(dot)com/45oblbk for the translation for those interested.
But no one, NO ONE will ever be greater than Origa.
She is just amazing. I love her music, and she really knows how to sing. She isn't just "Singing" Like people do now a days, she studied music. Anyways. I did a rather (more than rather) failure attempt at her song Aney, Unborn Child. XD
Her voice to to beautiful to match. Her music to hard to just sing once and get it perfectly. I love her.
@jilljonniex: I have a very high esteem for Kanno as a composer, and I agree that she works with some great vocalists and musicians, including Origa. However, if you look around a bit, I'm sure you'll find there's more to life than Kanno and Origa -- voices and styles beyond comparison. Check out Lisa Gerrard, for example -- if someone has out-of-this-world vocals, that's her. And if you're into Russian folk-opera, I definitely recommend Pelageya -- she's not "big in Japan", but she still rocks.
@jilljonniex I agree that she is a great singer to practice to. She has such a nice combination of opera and folk in her voice. I don't agree that NO ONE is better than her. I'll bet if you practice a lot and have the talent for it, you'll probably be as good as her. Gotta find your OWN voice to know for sure. But yeah, I practice to her too.
@MrDanilsk Well, I do agree that her cosplay was mediocre at best and that they should've gotten a Caucasian girl to play the part of Kihel Heim, (seeing as she was from the Sunbelt region of the US) but I think that her appearance added to the performance as she and Dianna Soreil pretty much embody it.

Origa's voice is epic, Kanno's compositions are genius and cosplayer at the side is lulz.

the depth of the melody is like a reflection of Yoko's own child-like honesty with the world.
