  • I dont need to decide who is best, I just love finding truly fine, exquisite STUFF..

thanks for sharing this great stuff. We need it, 4-sho, hard times bring us to great music

In the spirit of sharing, lets not forget the fine sprits of Sonny Landreth's axe

  • Monty is awesome he played a few songs for us at our Keller Williams mega camp in Austin last week.UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

  • At 4:34. That's where you know that 2 of the world's best guitar players are sharing the same stage. It's hard to put a finger on it, but that's what separates the men from the boys. Amazing video, I would have loved to be there.

  • Томми всю песню держит ритм, Монтгомери импровизирует в заданных рамках и немного вне)) великолепно.

  • monte hit a bad note

  • maximum respect!

  • Master Improvisationalist!

  • Saw Tommy Emmanuel, Monte Montgomery and Larry Carlton in Austin last nightat One World Theatre - Awesome

  • @relarson I was there too!!!!!!!!! Good God that was an amazing show!!!!!!!

  • Glad to hear these guys and talk about pleasant things instead of leaving heated political dung !! ............great acoustical guitar work, in fact great guitar work period !

  • Doesn't get any better folks. Absolutely awesome !! Thank you Monte, and Tommy.

  • newton faulkner should be with them...

  • right!!!

  • The power of an Alverez !

  • they ripped it up! they both rocked it!

  • monte is better

  • I think the song's called "Willie's shades" it was written by an Australian singer songwriter named Doug Ashdown.

  • The BEST , then the rest.

  • 2 people did not like this song. I wanna know what they think is a good song if those two thought that this wasn't one.

  • Totally favorited!!! What? Favorited is not a word? FU Oxford English dictionary.

  • These are great guitarists, also see channel: Iggypres

    ^ He is the master

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Had a silly grin when I spotted this on the tube, If I was going to to make a marriage of two performers it would be these two guys. Guitar heaven.

  • im so glad noone is arguing over who is a better guitar player, and we're just enjoying the amazing combo of these two guitarists.

I agree that if tommy's voice was a bit more powerful, it would compliment the song much better. but, how on earth can anyone pick flaws in these two?!

  • Hoooooly crap! These two actually got together and the world didn't explode?!

  • Haha, surprisingly enough. I swear these two have ADHD. :P Good stuff...@ejlister

  • Tommy's vocals don't match much of their guitar wizardry. I wish it could be more powerful and real bluesy.

  • Both are great, reallllly great, just different flavors as is Joe Pass. I've been playing in bands for 45 years, love em all!

  • I don't think you'll find any two better than these two.

  • Tommy played this song in Hungary too.I was looking for this but i couldnt find.Does anybody know the title of this song?

  • nice solo by Montgomery

  • grr i forgit the name of this song

  • This is a great song CHECK OUT THIS VERSION WITH TOMMY.

''Tommy Emmanuel plus song with Anthony Snape''

    enjoy it.

  • at 0:43 did that guy say "a blind man saw the news paper." hahaha

  • think he said "sold the newspapers"

  • ohhhhh alright! gotcha. it makes more sense that way hahahaha.

  • umm that "guy" is The Tommy Emmanuel

  • I think you mean Tony Enamel.

    ; )

  • @thescowlingschnauzer Which colour? Nice shade of Blues maybe

  • Different genre, granted, but why does everyone forget Christopher Parkening, The Romeros, etc., when the subject of best guitarist comes up? Wonder how many TE and MM fans have even heard CP or Angel?

  • You worry about the best guitarist. Why is that? Parkening said Segovia is the best and many disagree on that. There is no best guitarist but many brilliant musicians. Personally I must say Parkening and many other classical guys are just as cold as frozen stones with their educated attitudes which don't let them jam and have fun like real entertainers do. How about Joe Pass and Martin Taylor by the way?

  • Joe Pass is awesome!

  • cant say who the two best are.. way too many.. matter of taste.

    ever hear pat metheny

  • ABSOLUTLY STUNNING!! what song is this it kinda sounds like bill withers aint no sunshine? seen enough?

  • in my opinion these are the 2 best acoustic players out there each has a very distinct style Monte uses absolutly every inch of his whole hand to mute/squeal/and wiggle, and Tommy uses his whole body to keep the rhythm...sometimes he uses the whole body of the guitar to beat out a rhythm both are extreamly uniqe players and if you havent heard them before I highly recomend it.

  • i completely agree. monte's acoustic-electric tone is amazing, and tommy's got so much feel!

they are both my fav acoustic players too!

  • most def, love them both just found tommy e couple of months ago

  • agree 100%, they are the 2 best till someone shows me different

  • @richiemabie I'd say that Phil Keaggy is easily in their league.

  • @Jrg320 beyond their league, keaggy was an innovator, these guys are just technically skilled, very amazing in their music sure but none of them hold a candle to bireli lagrene, stochelo rosenberg, django ect ect. Still great though, keaggy and joe walsh were and still are the kings of old school rock. Nobody but guthrie govan is on their level ( guthrie is far beyond them heh, nobody else is though )

  • absolutely.

tommy and monte ... this is a perfect event, two guitar gods together, wow.

check out the account "rpoland" (aka candyrat records) for some other very good guitarists (let's say guitar angels instead of guitar gods :-)

  • I've seen Monte 4 times and Tommy twice...Definately on my top 2 list ; I'm open to any and all possible candidates to displace either of them .

  • No replacement for you but definately an addition would be Doyle Dykes. He is stupid good. He is a Chet Atkins guy just like Tommy.

  • @musicbwr schweet !!

  • @burtonkd1 your opinion is not at all correct :P While both are great, Bireli Lagrene and Stochelo Rosenberg smash them both

  • @hellookelly Kinda hard to compare across styles like that. I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and try to pick the better of Django and Freddie Green. They're just both at the absolute top of what they did.

  • @burtonkd1 hes not even on the list, but still amazing

  • @burtonkd1 what about al dimeola, paco delucia and john mclaughlin's (?) trio in san fran? thought that was a pinnacle of acoustic guitar performance as well

  • @guhitan amen

  • @guhitan Those guys are great too, but to me these guys are the best.

  • @ burtonkd1 εδώ έχουμε τις 2 καλύτερες ακουστικές παίκτες ..... παρακαλώ dont ξεχάστε το τρίτο ericroch .......... ε. ..........

  • Awesome !!
