@suggsakasuggs I think you mean The Phantom Brigade where Cobra Commander calls from the deads 3 ghosts: a centurion, an amazon and a WW2 pilot. The squeleton may be the one at the end of the episode, rising and telling Cobra Commander that they will wait for him or something like that and Cobra Commander flees in terror. The grey guy is Firefly, the sabotage expert mercenary. I didn't remember he was in this episode but it could be. Lots of Cobra troops freaked out in this episode.

You don´t notice these things when you´re young. Most animated series from the 80´s and the 90´s look outdated this time around. However some of the Disney cartoon shows manage to look fresh and well drawn today. For instance the work done on Ducktales is wayyyyy better than for instance The Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles.

The original Marvel comic is he definitive GI JOE universe, Larry Hama wrote it and he created all the back stories, including the file cards on the back of the toys...

In the comics, Cobra Commander is a man. The cartoon is cool as hell, but not nearly as cool as the comics! The movie was a piece of shit. He turns into a snake. Fun to watch, some cool new characters, but way off in left field...it should really be looked at as a marketing anomaly and not as part of the continuing storyline.
