@PrincessSybilla77 did you just say a better actress to play Lady Jane? A BETTER actress!? Are you kidding me, none other exists. Helena Bonham Carter will forever be the best actress to ever walk earth.
@Rukia91554 I know who she, is. But thanks anyway. I was just making a reference to Harry Potter. Lady Jane was actually one of the first movies I've seen her in.
@Rukia91554 A Room with a View was the first movie I've seen her in. But I was really young during the '80's so I've seen the film in the early 90's on video releases.
I was 15 and saw this in the Theater with my grandmother. Thing is Edward and Jane are often forgotten in the line of history! This movie is pretty well written and filmed!
oh, I love Lady Jane already...lol......second time seeing H.B.Carter in period drama and she's always a smart mouth....she's great in A Hazard of Hearts....check it out, if you haven"t.
Helena Bonham-Carter has been an accomplished actress for many years,& Lady Jane is one of her finest roles! And this film is a stunning homage to a brutal part of our history!
While I really enjoyed this movie when I first saw it, it was the soundtrack that has been haunting me for 25 years. I enjoyed watching the movie again, but this music and the part that is played in the last segment is what I keep coming back for.
I saw this movie when I was 12 years old, back in the sixth grade. Helena Bonham Carter was amazingly beautiful, and she is still amazingly beautiful today.
@azuz6778 Well, they buried it with the rest of her body. The morticians cleaned it up and stuck it in the coffin. And yes, I suppose it was kind of bloody. Thank you so much for that mental image.
@Rogue969 thank you for answering my question, at last some has done it! =)
i'm really sad that a really young girl had her head chopped off and it would be very scry for such a young girl, i imagine my self refusing and trying to escape in a mottor boat while with a gun in reach.....lol...imagination.
Their words mean nothing to me at all! I could never talk about politics and what not. It doesn't make any sense to me. I love this film! Bought it when I was seven or eight. I am now thirteen. : D
so far-i just made it thru the credits-i had no idea all these important people were in it :O im glad u posted this movie-glad i get to watch it :) thankyou :) :) :)
This was a great movie. Really enjoyed it. Great Cast. They did dress HBC in a lot of grey though! Like, we know, she's Lady Jane Grey, but did she really wear so many shades of grey!! LOL!
Recently read Alison Weir's 'Innocent Traitor'. Great book, hence now watching this. Wow! HBC was great in this role and I didn't realise Patrick Stewart was in this movie. I adorre him. Great stuff!
@18andreab Omigod! So did I. It was such a relief to see Guilford as a likeable, not to mention cute, man, not the atrocity protrayed the novel. Such a powerful book. I liked the Lady Elizabeth, too, but not so much. I guess I knew more about Elizabeth's history, so I didn't care as much.
@xElenaAJx It's called Innocent Traitor; written by Alison Weir. Worth a read, trust me. One of the best historical fictions I've read, and I've read a lot of them. ;)
@LDNisILuvCorndogs Oh, God, I absolutely love her books! I've gotten partway through Innocent Traitor, actually, and that was why I looked up movies about Lady Jane Grey. I've always been interested in her history, and this movie is a Godsend.
@PrincessSybilla77 They probably will. They've shown too much of Mary not to give her reign a lot of time, and you can't discuss her reign without discussing Jane Grey.
I saw this film when i was little and i've just read "The Innocent Traitor" by Alison weir which is all about lady Jane's life from her birth onwards it's a really great book, to those of you who like this film i suggest you read it you won't be disappionted.
@FragileThings331 there is another rumor going down that perhaps another company going do life story of Queen Elendor of Aquaitane the future wife of Henry 2 of England
Great movie good to see it on youtube. Carey Elwes is really nice and knew his Aunt taught English at my school. A young Helen about one of the best times she knew how to dress was in this movie.
I love this motion picture. I watch it all the time. As you can tell, I'm a bit of a history buff, and any period film is intriguing. THE DUCHESS for instanse, is pure genius. Keira Knightley as a fantastic actress, and I LOVE watching her films!
yes, the duchess was a remarkable movie...and knightly played the role w absolute excellence, & the parallels bet her & diana r unmistakeable...i share ur history interest in that aspect, but im also a bit more into studying monarchies (part. the english) & mainly female royals

I just watched it and couldnt get on with it at all, i turned it off when they started making wishes and smashing crystal drinking glasses on the floor, dont like waste, and this film was.
Jane Grey probably got the shittiest deal of anybody. She had a domineering and overtly abusive mother, an idiot of a father (the attack he led against Mary that forced her to have Jane executed), was forced into marrying an arrogant s.o.b, then again was forced into becoming queen against her better judgment, then paid the price w/ her life. All for nine (13 unnoficially) days of being Queen of England.
i didnt realize that helena bonham was in this lol she is my idol since i am in theatre and i love her acting skills! shes a star and AWESOME in this!!!!
Thanks for uploading this! I just read the book Nine Days A Queen about Jane Grey and I lvoed it! I love Helena Bonham Carter and I know I will like this movie!
Wow! Watching this I find it quite hard to think that she doesn't even know that she will eventually marry and have kids with Time Burton, and be such a huge star!
OMG i love you. thank you so so so much. i have been dying to watch this movie. i cant watch it now b/c ive got homework but thank you thank you thank you.
Although it's not accurate in some aspects, this movie is wonderful. I have it on DVD and it sees quite a few plays, though I wish the DVD version wasn't so dark.
