  • It wouldn't be Disney if they didn't try to sell you something.

  • from lookmore russian thumb up

  • I read about this at the bookstore yesterday and wanted to see if it was up on here. I cannot believe Disney did this, and that the word "vagina" was used.

  • I brought myself here.

  • Lol, am I the only one here from Snopes?

  • this was disney

  • Some of the things in this video are so ridiculous. "Try not to throw yourself off schedule... by catching cold" as if I have any control over that.

"Useful record of past performance" ... uh?

"try them with the guidance of a qualified person" what exactly qualifies someone in this dep't?

"FIX YOUR SLOUCH" you sound like my mother!

  • UBERFACTS!

  • Heard about this on UberFacts :b

  • 02:38 There ya go! The word vagina! :P

  • WTF What the fuck facts brought me here

  • Uber Facts anyone?

  • "Occasional twinge", my foot.

  • Okay my great grammy died in June and so they were cleaning out her books and they found a book from 1950 and gave it to me and said you'll need the soonest I was like -.- ~kill me~

  • lmfao I knew mickey had a freaky side!

  • girls always remember don't get sick it WILL make your period irregular lol

  • Was narrator-lady telling me not to bang on the rag at 7:57?

  • i think i watched this on the kids channel a while back, i was like "THIS IS MESSED UP" DAYM.

  • @Nikki0417 lol you're not the only one

  • VVVVV you're not the only one!

  • 'not only can you bathe, you should bathe' LOOL

  • aunt flo

  • Thumbs up if I'm not the only one who found out about this through OMG Facts

  • lol at 6:06 there are 18 months!

  • this video should come on tv instead of those sexist bullshit pill commercials for menstrual women. just eat healthy, excersize and basically do EVERYTHING the video said. Even the foods, I became a vegetarian and guess what? my period shortened to 3 days, ZERO cramps, ZERO mood swings and its almost as if it isnt there, at times i'll completely forget about it :) this video made my day. this is what preteen girls SHOULD see.

  • "Vagina" *small silence* "Which is part of the birth canal"

  • это пиздец :))))

  • Comment removed

  • Someone please explain to me how this is sexist. this was made in the1940's. In the 1940's, women still believed that you could not leave your house when you were menstruating, some believed you couldn't cook when you were menstruating, and people still believed that showering on your period meant a very painful adulthood filled with fibroids and migraines. They saw menstruation as a curse and a sickness back then. They NEEDED an accurate video like this.

  • @marler3 whoever thinks this video is sexist hasnt watched TV lately, and may have a brain tumor. this is not only dated and fitting to the time period (no pun intended), but it is extremely helpful and enlightening. it does not sell you pills or medications to ease dismenorrhea.

  • Comment removed

  • @marler3 it still is a curse. When is it ever not?

  • I'm surprised they used the word "vagina" and used quite a lot of correct information in a calm way. The lifestyle tips are hilarious, though.

  • Wow.... This is kinda cute. I would have liked to see this litttle film for my vid in school. XD

  • I no

  • que pedo?... y la mejor parte de todo? la penetracion ?...

  • disney you were more bad ten! and you etxis then.

  • @zoeybatterup152 i mean then

  • funny as hell, mainly due to the sexism inherent in it. For instance I learned that the stages of life for a women are 1) playing with blocks, 2) Dolls, 3)Books, 4)Marriage, 5)Having Children.

    LOL

  • @TheKittyWonder Well, it's not sexist, because they had to appeal to the general audience. It's not like you could be like "Alright girls, everything you've ever been told is a lie, now play some action figures and I'll teach ya all about periods" no, you have to put it in terms that people during a certain time can understand. For example: today, you have to use rap music in order to get kids to listen to anything you tell them

  • Once I saw the part about how you may be a little down, but try to keep your mood up, because other people have to live with you, it became obvious that this was written by a man.

  • @srubi74 keep smiling and even-tempered.....haha

  • WOW! IT'S DISNEY?!.. WOW!

  • Fuck Disney -.-

  • They should show this at school sex ed programmes well at our school we call sex ed 'Key links' like WTF!

  • "The Story of Menstruation"...otherwise known as "Cinderella Gets Her Period."

  • Who put the false eyelashes and the half ton of lipstick on the kid?

  • Lord Voldemort on 0:46 EPIC FACE XDDD

  • Laughing...so...hard!

  • Why am I watching this?

  • Awww this is so cute !

  • DAMN YOU PERIOD!

  • Aw I love this ! It's so cute :)

  • Epic Facts brought me here ;D

  • "occasional twinge" LOL

  • LOL

  • Funny Junk brought me to this. I lol'd, and thumbed up. Twice.

  • 28 days later...

  • is good to be a guy...

  • Don't feel sorry for yourself, you have to live with other people. After all, it's only an occasional twinge. Come, now. You can do almost anything you normally do!

  • the sun is smiling o.O

  • this is made by DISNEY!!!!!??????

  • @kjjrys

This is something every girl has to know.... what is so wrong with disney making this? -.-

  • @ThePianoPlayer93 Well, I have to say it was a nice idea at the time, but of course there are some opinions in that movie short that is kinda old-fashioned today.

  • wish they'd do this for Harvard referencing

  • I totally didn't pay attention in sex ed. How the hell does the egg get to the tube if the damn ovary isn't even connected?

  • WTF? Disney produced that??

  • EEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!!!

  • Not only that but it was the 40's.... Where society wasn't as...well you fill it in :)

  • Where are their feet!?!

  • WHY ARE WOMEN SO FUCKEN DIFFERNT!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGG

  • @BadVoodo0 Because we want to absorb you into the Mother Uterus.

  • lol omg the that image looks like an alien

  • lmao

  • we really have made many new discoveries since this video was made. i guess they didnt know that girls dont poop.

  • This would of been much more fun to watch in sex ed than an old art teacher telling us.

  • I can see why chaz bono opted out.

  • these cartoon girls are soo pretty!

  • Menstruation is not capitalized. And the word you want is "supposedly". No such word as "supposably".

All the best, The Grammar Fairy

  • Omg... they said vagina..... LMAO

  • The writing is actually excellent, from the first word to the last. It's really "mission accomplished" and timely guidance for young people who may have been harboring private worries and fears. Bravo to Disney, and its fine narrator, too.

  • I don't think my feet have disappeared yet? Should I call my doctor?

  • And now I'm gay

  • LoL OMGFacts brought me here :)

  • @Wolfgirl36512 close enough...

  • @Wolfgirl36512 funni mee to just had to see it

  • WTF

  • Wtf. The dresses are colored but the blood is white. XD

  • Nasty

  • the pititary gland is in the face where the nose is? wtf

  • @greenguitar731 No it's actually behind the nose and all that. It's basically in the middle of your head.

  • BAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA okay okay i'm sorry but i find this hilarious.

and every guy should have to watch this. just because.

  • I dont want children so I think I should be able to opt out of this process.

  • this is awkard

  • Disney + Kotex = BORING!

  • Ух ты !

  • I got my period today.... this is oddly comforting!!

  • hey, thank's for uploading this, it's interesting to find this kind of worrk by Disney, by the way, I find very cute 40's animations

  • I would hav never known Disney made a film like this

  • what the hell is slight?

  • @Aquatica4 "slight" means thin, or slim. It's still used today, but not usually in everyday speech.

  • Considering the era, this is really pretty good. These days we might think it didn't go far enough, but back then it was an unthinkable topic, and movies like these were the very first attempts to educate women away from the superstitions and negative connotations the topic held at the time.

  • Who was the moderator? Snow White? Cinderella? Sleeping Beauty? LOL!

  • haha i have also wanted to cry after dropping something sometimes its so sad sometimes!

  • Haha I remember years ago my teacher played this for my class :P

  • This was hilarious! Life in the 1940s!

  • Lol. It is smart for you to keep looking smart!

  • Who the hell made it taboo to bathe during her period??

    Damn 1940s you weird.

  • Love the ablist "You'll just have to live with it!" addressed to people who experience spikes in anxiety and depression during menstruation. I also love the complete glossing over of fertilization: they just say "if it's fertilized," rather than saying HOW it gets fertilized. I'm not even talking about discussion of sex; I'm talking about discussion of "pregnancy happens when the egg is fertilized by a sperm cell and then implants in the uterine lining." Important info for a kid to know.

  • cute!

  • 3 days? Occasional twinges?! Lucky bastards.

  • Up skirt shot at 1:30

  • there are never any black people i disney

  • @D3NMARKBITCH I guess you've never seen Dumbo or The Princess and The Frog then?

  • It may have been 1946 but they were ahead of their time! Well done!

  • One of the few truly appropriate videos for maturing women.

  • Wait only one egg passes during each period? A week of bleeding, cramps, and misery for that? This is actually a very factual and well done video especially for the 1940s! I'm glad it has none of those graphic or disturbing images.

btdubs mine sometimes lasts 10 days, not 3-7. "No matter how bad you feel you have to live with people." Hahaha

  • men who are adicted to porno and want to break the habit, should study menstration

  • shoot i got my period wen i wuz 10 and yall talkin bout "11-17" ughhh

  • PECADO SEXUAL!

  • The girl look like Dorothy

  • Velvety huh? Ohh my...

  • WHY DOES IT HUUURRTT SOO MUUCCCHHH

  • i learned more from this then i have from school vids, nurses, and my female family members--thank you disney

  • Comment removed

  • do you guys wear a tampoon while in the shower? I just let it flow down the drain..

  • @CityBuru that is when I wanna get mine

  • the woman who's talking sounds depressing... anyway the artwork looks great :) i like the way the characters are drawn.

  • I was told by my mother that it was a curse and a plague that all women must suffer because the universe hates us. Once a month your own body betrays you and you feel like you've just been punched from the inside, but there's no sense in crying about it because it's going to be stuck with you for about 40+ years and if you think that's bad try going through labour. You'll be a terribly moody person, you're face will break out and just when you think it's over BAM! heavy rapid flow.

  • I got my first period when i was 14...on the day before my first date...D:

  • i didnt know how periods worked untl i saw this.

  • Walt Disney should have been a pediatrician, what an excellent overview!

  • For some reason, I have a really hard time believing that this exists. I can't see Walt Disney creating something like this lol. Although, maybe he made it for his daughter

  • Not go to extremes huh? So I wasn't supposed to do that skier cross course during my period? Please...I got my best time during that race. :P

  • this bitch has got loads of naked pics on this site fieryvid cooooooooooooom

  • I didn't know you are supposed to avoid constapation during your cycle now it all makes sense!

  • I got my period when I was 10 yrs old. I was the only girl in 4th grade wearing a bra and deoderant!

  • -BARF!! Disney.*

  • I got mine on my 11th birthday...!!

  • i got mine when it's my 13th b-day!!....thanks for this vid!!

  • @2ne1chaeRa08

    Ooooh, that sucks.

  • The mentrual-cycle is proof that God is a prick.

  • @SinnFein4ever I think it's for our own good. Without it, some of us beautiful young women may get too proud of ourselves. :) And a monthly cleansing of our blood system isn't a bad idea.

  • @jellybellylify

    Speak for yourself.

I'd rather avoid it by taking the pill every day, or getting the Norplant implant (a little tube for birth-control they implant in your upper-arm, that lasts for 5 years.).

  • @jellybellylify What's wrong with being proud of yourself? -_- and I agree with SinnFein4ever. 100%

  • I had my first at 12 and a half..

  • I Got My Period At 10. And They Have Explained It Very Well For A First Period Here :)

  • mine lasts 8 days, eh it usued to last almost 2 weeks, i'm surprised some have it for 3 days! Lucky!

  • Both cute and informative, very funny as well. I laughed when she said always looking good is important because you'll feel good too. Haha sounds like something my grandma would say to me :)

  • I thought this would be unhelpful but this helped alot more than my mom she just handed me a panflit

  • thnnnx

  • I'm showing this to my sis...

  • I'm very mad that all that happens over 1 little egg.

  • @noodlestrudeldoodle recycling the lining of the uterus is much more energy-efficient than maintaining ovulation all month. some animals' uteri are more diligent recyclers than humans: women still have to lose some essential iron in the process every time.

i'm very mad that it can hurt so much.
