  • what model of arduino is that

  • is it just me or does he look like david tennant

  • Make a video on ( how to make a 4×4×4 LED cube

  • AH FUCK JUST SAY WHAT IT FUCKING IS½½½½½½½½½½

  • HA! First arduino project completed :)

  • I do not think those guys are real pirates.

  • but...will it blend?

  • Your code never uses the "val" variable.

  • Awesome!!!! Thanks for the intro!

  • Check out my intro to the micro controller! It's my personal favourite video

  • c or c ++ ?

  • @thekaiser11234 Based on C. It's C sytax but at the same time it isnt.

  • @LochieFerrier no. Serial refers to an interface between devices and can also mean the old and outdated 9-pin serial connector, not just USB.

  • The thing i hate about Adruino is that it does everything for you. it helps you more than enough in my opinion. i guess we need to be in an intermediate level in understanding how to program an IC. i don't suggest assembly which is professional nor Arduino which is for amateurs. but after all it's so good for learning at the beginning.

  • nice

    thanks guys

  • C# much`?

  • @pilsforboys C not C#

  • I was waiting for break; command around 3:07...

  • I almost pee on my pants, this is hilarious, and instructive as well. Keep it up guys.

  • Um guys Serial is the same as USB.

  • I've tried to use Eclipse + WinAVR + toolchain to debug the arduino , but have hit a brick wall.

Is remote debugging possible? a video explaining how to do this would be magic!

(PS: I can remote debug using the Netduino Plus with C#.NET Express, and its great!, it would be good to have the same functionality for Arduino)

  • electronik-artz.blogspot(dot)com/

  • It also appears to be much easyer to say than the Atenmel (is that right), AVR whatever-it-is microprocesser thingy

  • Take a picture of your booty and post it on the website!? Hmmm let me think this on over

  • @MissMopPop Arduino.cc has a list of sites

  • I like the pirate stuff and the fact these guys know what they are doing...good job.

  • Brain hurts...

  • where can i buy an arduino board?

  • @MissMopPop Google it. There are tons of places that sell them.

  • @MissMopPop go to the arduino website go to the buy tab there will be a list of countries and and hardware shops under neath them select the hardware store underneath your country

  • You guys would much better serve mankind if you would just give people the information because you are good at it. The stupid pirate crap just makes you guys look like dweebs and makes it hard to take you seriously.

  • @thombone Come on have some fun in your life ya stuck up CodeMonkey.

  • @Turkeylegs39 Fun is fine, but unfunny isn't fun.

  • thumbs up for Sharpies

  • MORE ARDUINO PROJECTS! RAAAAAAR

  • No you need no transistor. with 5v goes it.

  • don't you need an resistor for that led on pin 9?

  • I LOVE MAKEMAGAZINE

And I like Joe Grand from the TV Show Prototype this.

    "I LIKE PIZZA"

  • nice work..........

  • Dude! I saw Bre Pettis on the newest WIRED issue!!! I flipped out!

  • If I could interface this with a dvd drive could it be made to stream SACD and DVD Audio to coax?

    Would be cool to do.

  • informative,.. just don't quit ur day jobs, lol... good job tho!

  • Thank you for putting this video together :D

  • I love The Pirates. Arduino is the start of the Free The Computer movement we have been waiting for.Still a long road ahead.

  • OMFG JUST ORDERED MY ARDUINO :):):):):):) CANT WAIT TILL I GET IT!

  • @12dart12 got mine today, but came with no cable... ;(

  • @whatnottobe awww that sucks dude :( i got a arduino clone of ebay, exactly the same as a arduino duemilnove but alot cheaper and it came with a bundle of stuff like wires, led matrix, leds, resistors, pots, lcd screen and the best part that all this was for £40. :) hope you have fun and make lots of epic shit with yours :D

  • @12dart12 i actually have the lego nxt cable and it works with the uno, just got to find it.

  • pleez dont ever do that pirate crap again!... scared the living sh*t outta me!!!!

  • ethernet sheld project

  • The guy with the geek t-shirt was on "Prototype this"??

  • @sarumantlor He also made the badges for DEF CON 15 - 18. :)

  • Nice presentation, nice work

  • 3:00

    loop joke, lol.

  • ITS JOE FROM PROTOTYPE THIS!!!!

  • Pedo face at 0:55

  • Check what we're doing with Arduino & Etoys. Have fun! :) /watch?v=l_IYlDbBlEs

  • 5:08 - 5:20 lol, perv

  • sir can u teach me to make the programming using this arduino..i want to make the dimmer LED programming?

  • Gay butt pirates :D

  • S.O.S.

  • What's a code monkey?

  • I've got software for Ubuntu!

  • ha they have arduino ng the ancient ....

  • Great stuff guys.

I'm new to this but I think I will be addicted to it very soon.

    Thanks!

  • plz tell me how can i use a keyboard and a usb drive to type and save notes on the drive??

  • @warlocks970 good idea but i dont think it is possible maybe yes...........

  • @warlocks970 You might be able to use the eathernet shield to save the input and hack a keyboard to make them just switches.

  • an arduino pc?????

  • 0:46 Joe Grand is Freddie Mercury

  • is it possible to put a camera on an aurduino and have the whatever the camera is viewing show up on my computer screen in real time?

  • @lucirz yes, search Racer Demo 0.1 - WipEout® in real life HD (it won't let me post links for some reason)

  • @stowns3 yea youtube is gay, you can't post links, even youtube links lol.....used to be able to do that but in recent years they disabled it, i guess cause of spam

  • That list is epic. It was the best part of this video.

  • shit. i thought collin was going to be hosting this not that wack willis guy. worst 20 seconds of my life wasted

  • omg its the guy from proto type this

  • is that Eric from Adult Swim's Tim an Eric Awsome show? - no I dont watch it- I just was flipping channels on day....

  • head's up make, posting a video to your blog about the top 10 "internet of things" where bre and joe act like idiots while trying to demo a perfectly legit board isn't helping the arduino movement. when I watch this vid I see a couple of children playing with a new toy. people new to microcontrollers might brush off this as a serious tool based on the first impression YOU gave them. sorry, this is a fail in my book.

  • @fireraisr And you serve in what capacity, exactly, on the executive board of The Arduino Movement? For noobs like me, seeing something that seems enigmatic and elusive made fun (and yes, even childish) is exactly what we need as a first impression. Not everything needs to be as serious as neurosurgery in order to be legitimate...

  • Hi there, I would like to see a couple of videos about the Arduino.

    1. Debugging

    2. LCD

    3. With Menus within Arduino via the LCD screen to control the output.

  • How do I get the phone number of that hot chick in the video! ;)

  • Any way to have the arduino control a 120v switch? Like to turn a light on and off. I want to make an indoor vegi garden completely controlled by a computer. so, temp input to control lights, fans and humidifiers. any ideas? Thanks.

  • @ryani810 try a high voltage relay but be sure to insulate it properly or you could DIE.

then when people say "did he died?" i'd have to say "....yes...."

disclaimer: I am not responsible for any stupid things that might be done based on advise given on youtube.

  • 1:40

    is he ok?

  • i had to learn the basics of the arduinos code yesterday and wish i had found this video before i decided to read a few examples and refer to arduinos web site to explain what command did what and how to get this to do that. is their anyone who would take a look at my code to see if i did it right. im trying to get 2 pairs of relays to engage and disengage depending on the input from an ir detector (comes with a analog to digital converter already).

  • Hi, can the microcontroller from the board be used as stand alone in a project like PICs can, or do you have to use the entire arduino board all the time? I mean, is it possible to take off the microcontroller after you program it, and build electronics around it on a simple breadboard, or is it tied together with the board. Absolute beginner... Thanks!

  • @bogdanF132 The Arduino board has the chip in a socket, instead of soldered in, for that very reason. You can use the Arduino board and a breadboard to prototype your circuit, and then design a circuit board with a socket for the micro-controller, a power supply, and your customer circuitry, and then pull the chip from the Arduino board and plug it into your circuit board. You will probably want to replace the micro-controller on your Arduino board, so you can start on your next project.

  • @rhonan thank you very much for your clear answer, one more relevant question: is the atmega 168 cheaper than a PIC with similar capabilities or at least the same price (I would check it myself if I had any critical abilities on the cornucopia of available PIC's)? I plan of making multiple copies of an electronic project, so the price factor of the microcontroller becomes important. Thanks again, much appreciated!

  • @bogdanF132 You'd have to check your favorite supplier. I haven't played with PICs or STAMPs, just Arduino.

  • holy crap... what a mouthfull @.@

  • Can u guys make a tut for the PING))) sensor?

  • Thanks for being retarted. You make being a nerd fun.

  • 555-31337 lol XD 1337.

  • question, if I make something with the Arduino and I want to keep it is there anything cheaper that I can put in its place? like 'a breadboard is to a circuit board as an Arduino is to a _______.' Or wuld I have to buy another Arduino? Thanks

  • Can an Arduino be used to interface a sensor to a computer via USB?

  • @airihi Yes it can. Look up the Danger Shield. The danger shield has temperature, light, and knock sensors. The example code from from sparkfun that I have used reads all the sensors back via usb. Makershed has whole sets of other sensors that are pretty cool.

  • What a frickin bunch of nerds. You talk for 5 fricking minuts and 18 seconds, yet you give no useful information. What does the thing do? I figured out what it does on my own. How much does the fricking thing cost? You said it's a "low cost platform" WTF? Why don't you just say how much it is? I will say what the arduino is, it's a multi-channel realtime feedback processor, motor controller computer like what finally got the harrier jet flying, and such things as the segway.

  • @AJollyGoodFelon If you wanted to know how much it costs, why don't you just go to amazon or something. It would take less time than writing that irrelevant comment.

  • @AJollyGoodFelon Costs about 30$ on sparkfun. It is a microcontroller platform to make programming and bootloading embedded systems easier

  • are you hi on drogs????

  • Very important, it's Made in ITALY :)

  • Crazy tut :)

  • jo grand r you on ,prototype this

  • lol almost craped my pants when i saw his face at 0:46 seconds

  • @BlanchProductions press it over and over and it sounds like hes saying MORMAN lolololololololol

  • i cant believe he just explaineed the whole code wth

  • Just got my NANO 3.0 Im thinkin a robot with a motion sensor and infrared camera to post up at my house while im on vacation. Anyone know a good place to find reasonably priced robots chassis that can carry some payload like maybe 50lbs? I dont really have access to drill presses and what not custom fabricate my own although I would love to do

that eventually ( man a CNC machine would be sweet right now ). Anyway if you have a good link for robot parts, please share.

  • my booty is big, i need a wide angle lens

  • Joe Grant... i think i know him fom a tv show...

  • discovery channel "prototype this"

  • take pictures of mah booty? which one? >:D

  • what if i need to use it to program a robot? i don't think i need to keep the USB connected if the robot moves the USB WILL DISCONNECT so can i offer voltage from the ports? sorry maybe stupid question. i am using Motorola hc 12 i want to change it to Arduino

  • Take a look at the Getting Started With Arduino kit from Maker SHED. It comes with a whole bunch of useful components. Such as a battery pack. ;)

  • bluetooth shield or wifi shield

  • isn't joe grand off the show prototype this.

  • Could you do a video on how to connect to hyperterminal on com to get dynamic data back from a sensor component that is plugged into the arduino? Like a temperature sensor?

  • Bre Pettis is very wierd when he is around people if u watch the others when he is by himself he is very mellow

  • lawl

tremind me of the piratebay :P

  • any who trys to diss these guys are either douches or just fucking assholes

  • I love how you said PC last. Go Linux!!!

  • "Take some pictures of your booty and post them..."

Is that a terms of usage violation?

  • MAKE A MIDI CONTROLLER!

  • that's what im doing

  • ooooohhh that's the guy from "Prototype This" !

  • hey thanks guys i might get an arduino for christmas because i have been eyeing one up for about a year so im 12 turning 13 april 18 so i thought this would be a great starting platform

ps i have an 8-bit microcontroler (bare chip) got info ofline but dont know anything and i mean anything about this stuff so ill be listening in on you guys to learn more thanks again

  • OK here is an idea for a followup...

The aftermath of a drunken love fest between an Arduino board and an Atari Punk Console.

  • Dude, I didn't know Ben Stiller sold electronics. Huh?

  • @srjcstud

LMAO!!! He does look like Ben Stiller!!! :D

  • busquen en olimex chile mas informacion!

search for olimex chile for arduino products

  • more arduino i need to learn this stuff so yea try to do that

  • i need to gets me one of tose arrrrrr

  • save the drama you guys are not actors or funny

  • this is geek humor. perfectly acceptable.

  • @kbills1234

    no shiiiiiiit

  • @kbills1234 is too grumpy..

  • @kbills1234

dude let them do the show the way THEY want!

they just introduce it not explain it

  • @kbills1234 must suck having no sense of humor. poor u.

  • I love the Arduino! Lot's of power and I don't have to memorize datasheets anymore! It sits on top of WinAVR, which is also an OUTSTANDING application.

  • how is the arduino powered? can it be portable?

  • It's powered via either usb or a line jack - usually 9vdc. If you can supply 9vdc with enough current (not sure specs off the top of my head but I would say 200ma would be conservative) then it can be made portable. I suppose Li-Po or Nicad could be use to power it. I've prototyped it and had it run off 6 double A's so I know battery power is definitely possible.

  • You are GODS.

And he's looking at you very, very weirdly.

  • lol love the way you mixed good infos with being silly :-) 2 thumbs aaaarrrp!

  • Can i use arduino to control the current in a circuit through my computer

  • А в чем прикол то?

  • Status: Shipped.

  • ditto

  • I juat ordered Getting started with Arduino kit! Just can't wait to get it.....

  • Got it today!!

  • ardinos seem really cool, and I hope to get one soon, but if i was to start making projects that i want to keep, or maybe even sell, i wouldn't want to solder an arduino into each one of them. so what are my other options that are more cost effective. Could i use something like they use in $10 toys and stuff, i'm sure they're not using arduinos in stuff like that.

  • you can remove just the chip from the arduno once its programmed up, you just need to make sure the voltage going in is carefully regulated and other things like that

but yeh, the chip can be removed

  • You can prototype the whole thing if you want, just whip up (or buy) a 3.3 or 5v regulated DC PS (or just wire up a Linear Reg with a couple of caps). Not counting the serial hardware, there is maybe 10 components you need to get a working board. I just use an FTDI breakout board for my serial - I have 3 different chips breadboarded including a '644P so the breakout board comes in handy.

  • for cost effectiveness, you can make a small arduino with less I/O chips like atmega8, it is opensource so u can get schematic and the howto. 5X of them for 9$ from ebay, program the chip , test it and remove it

  • can it be used in robotics?

  • yes sirrr

  • can i program PIC16F57 like the PICKit2

    please respond

  • These would be a lot more informative if they could just stop trying to be so damn entertaining all the time.

  • where i can buy arduino?

  • he 2 left think i is the same guy as in prototype this ..

  • Where i can find code for step motors and servo motors Working simultaneously

  • Nice VL-1 intro. There's a great VST that replicates it. I have it on my PC and like to noodle with it.

  • Joe Grand?! he's in Prototype This! awesome show...

  • no i will not take pictures of my booty and send them to you

  • Whats with makezine allways pushing the arduino its just a I/O dev board for ATmega, And honestly the ATmega168 is not that great of a chip.

  • Now, this board uses ATmega328

  • Is there a chip better than the ATmega168/Atmel chips that you are thinking of? Not meaning to disparage you or your comment...I'm just curious to see what chip you prefer.

  • hey you halfwit you will break your led doing that with no resistor

  • He said he put in a resistor. Don't be stoopid

  • Just listen to the Floss EP 61 ARduino from twit or itunes - floss weelky kids - yes you text like kids - blah

  • how tose the ardurino know if ledPin and inputPin are digital or analog? please answer.
