  • Enjoyed this in the UK. I am learning this from the Frank Crumit version but listening to your lyrics will change it some.

  • @ReggieChas Will be looking forward to your rendition, Thanks for dropping in.

  • this is absolutely amazing. I love the way it sounds and how you roll it so sweet.

you got some feeling in it.

  • @stosselite Thank you so much, even if my guitar was out of tune????

  • Get a digital tuner, clip it on and you will see how much you're out of tune.

  • Good Morning, and thanks for the comment, I use a Performance plus ST1000, which is fairly accurate and uses the 440 tuning scheme. I dont tune my guitar every time I use it so could very well be off. Thanks for the tip.

  • I just learned how to play this song on the piano and liked it a lot. Out of all of the frankie and johnny songs on youtube, you were the only one who put the original lyrics on here. I really liked it!

  • Thank you so much, will be looking forward to more of your posts how about Frankie and Johnny.

  • Well done.

  • Thank you for stopping and listening to this ole man. Glad you liked it.

  • well done

  • Thanks for stopping by and giving a listen.

  • Roy, I have to admit, this version had some closure...:-) As it turns out... it's spelled "kimono" which is a T-shaped, straight-lined robe worn so that the hem falls to the ankle, with attached collars and long, wide sleeves giving easy access to get to her small 44.... Oh and she bought the 44 at a gun show at the fairgrounds... as referenced in another song.... "it's only a gunshow away"... anyhow! thanks for rendering this one for us it was greatly enjoyed!! :-)

  • Hey bud! LOL you need to put the comment on the guys comment. I missed this.

  • great job Roy 5*****+.......Colin.

  • One question always had to this song Roy. Why was Frankie wearing a Kamona? And where in the world did she get a "SMALL" 44. LOL

  • Those are some interesting questions now that you mention it. interestingly enough there is no definition of the term kamona on wickpedia.

  • I think I spelled it wrong Roy. ki·mo·no 1. A long, wide-sleeved Japanese robelike dress worn with an obi and often elaborately decorated. 2. A loose robe worn chiefly by women.

I just thought it was wierd that Jimmy Rogers used the word.

  • Super super job Roy thanks for the post my friend.

  • thanks my friends. I enjoyed doing it.

  • Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed doing it just one of those spur of the moment things.

  • what a good version, Roy! I've heard it for as long as I can remember, but had never know who wrote it or that it was the same man who wrote "Bill Bailey." WOW! What a gret bit of info.....makes such sense that Bill Bailey's philandering led to his demise. Five stars. Loved it.

    Naomi

  • Thanks Joan, did that one this evening one take no run through just set up the camers Loyce set it and made a one take video.

  • Roy,

    ~Joan~

  • rooty too too ....what a great version. Keep up the good work. Is that a grammy guitar? I used to know a great picker in Wva. with a guitar like that...

  • The guitar is a Washburn, I added the pick guards from an old junker my sister found in a dumpster which I glued back together took the finish off of it and use it for a wall hanging. I bought the washburn one time when I was in a music store liked the sound so it had to go home with me.

  • Please excuse my hair, I washed it this morning and cant do a thing with it.
