I use a Mac, but I wish Apple's advertising campaign wasn't so aggressive. Apple would've gone bankrupt years ago if good ol' Bill hadn't of helped them out.
@jerrya2006 That was MS making too many promises and couldn't deliver, that was MS getting to used to the whole minor upgrade, major upgrade, that was MS loosing sight of fundementals, that was MS being stupid.
Steven Sinofsky did a great job taking over the windows division and not making mistakes microsoft made previously.
I've upgraded my OS to Windows 7 on my PC and never had to "move my stuff"... and since when are Macs #1? Pretty sure if they were #1 they wouldn't have to advertise so (passive)-aggressively.
They're really grasping at straws to put Windows 7 down...
@777static777 Ever heard of Crysis Wars? Or Crysis? Or Adobe Presenter?
That's why ;)
Since most people use PC, most of them don't know much or anything about Macs--or that they exist. So, if people know, people would buy. Everything is this way. ;)
@PhysicsTowerTeam ...I'm not sure I get the point of your comment. Yes, I've heard of those things, however I played Crysis before ever seeing an add for it (heard about it through word of mouth), heard about Adobe programs through word of mouth, and the list goes on. When you're #1, you don't NEED to advertise - people do it for you through word of mouth.
Also, I know MANY people who know about Macs and haven't bought them.
Finally, ads like this aren't winning Apple any fans...
@777static777 I know. My point is basically that if people don't advertise, no one will know about it. Here, not one person heard about Crysis. Barely anyone does. And I don't even remember any ads.
@MrJake0604 the hardware you get for the price is pathetic really. Its workable hardware but you pay a shitload more for it. My pc cost me half with better hardware and thats with a top of the line nvidia card. The mac is slower than the pc simply due to the hardware pricing. A 1200$ pc is like a 2400$ mac hardware wise.
@MrJake0604 I suspect you know those things aren't really true. Mac is based in Unix, so it's more like Linux than Windows is. However, I don't base my OS preferences on which operating system has code more similar to Linux. =)
These videos are stupid. I'm allways pulling for PC. And it never wins :( Apple should do some videos of PC winning for, you know, customer satisfaction.
plus your not actually "MOVING YOUR STUFF" unless your a fool and still run windows xp over vista. vista doesn't require a clean install, only if ur going from xp. but only ppl who deserve to use a mac (fools) are still using windows xp.
I won't deny that the Mac has a good operating system (I still prefer Windows), but this is really a retarded advertisement campaign. To say that "WELL YOU'RE GONNA BE MOVING YOUR STUFF ANYWAY!!" is easily one of the worst reasons to switch to a Mac.
Wait Wait Wait! So if I buy a new computer( a mac), I won't have to switch my files over? And all my programs will be compatible? They will just magically appear? Oh wait... Windows 7 puts the old files in a folder (windows.old) on upgrade, and you don't have to switch all files and programs to new computer... woops. And I agree SourCookie, I think it would be nice if this battle settled on they are both pleasant. But this commercial was a little unsettling.
@TSHADproductions You never, ever, ever upgrade. Always perform a fresh install. Upgrading can cause so many possible conflicts immediately and eventually after it's completed that it makes absolutely no sense not to perform a fresh installation. An upgraded version of Windows never works as well as a clean install. That being said FAST makes it remarkably easy to move many personal files and settings anyway. Unfortunately, most people don't know anything about their OS.
@Vylsith Agreed, agreed. The point I was making was not that of whether to fresh install or not. I personally used an external hard drive, but now we are getting off topic.
I Iove how everyone who favours windows is saying "mac users know nothing about computers" which is a load of shit (Vice versa too, mac users who get all high and mighty are just as bad). Don't generalise, I sure as hell "know about computers", I work on windows all day, by the time I'm home I just want my macbook. Windows is a great OS, but so is Mac, everyone needs to stop the bitching and get over it because no one gives a crap.
I'm pretty sure MAC doesn't have to justify researching windows 7 considering the track record windows has. I just got windows 7, works good for the most part, except for when it randomly shuts down programs on me...and I'm more than sure that more PC users are switching over to MAC.
This is totally sad, as soon as Window's 7 come's out somebody at Apple goes " OH MY GOD ITS AWSOME WE GOTTA DOWN SIZE WINDOWS 7 BEFORE ITS TOO LATE OR WERE SCREWED" And this should be the oppisite, Mac user's are switching to Pc, Silly Mac Computer market is for Pc!
I LOL'd at MAC's stupidity in this commercial. I just did a few upgrades from XP to 7 and all the files, documents, icons, etc are all exactly where they were.
macs are for people that have no idea what they are doing with a computer, if you are that type of person then hooray for you! but i like having power. PC = pwning computers
I like both PC and mac but I prefer a PC. Mac is really hating on PC, maybe because verizon attacked the iPhone? Anyway, pC's can be more work sometimes, but Ita worth it if you gain some knowledge out if it.
fuck these mac commercials piss me off
