@andyknight1 Hi Andy, follow the road on google towards the lake and you should see a lay by to park on the right hand side, thats where you start the climb.
Love the Harrier guys. They really get down in there lower than the rest, it seems! When I retire, I'm moving back to the UK, and building a house on one of those hillsides, somewhere. Likely not, but I can dream, right? Great stuff.
@jonesy97 Yep we all have that dream :) when the bosses come through from 48th TFW they get pretty low and its a sight not to be missed with all the fluff and streamers from the "cloudmaker" (I think that is a unnofficial nicknamefor the 15's)
@S00000by I served with the 48th back in the early '90's, when they had the F-111F's. I always wondered if those guys flew the Mach Loop, like the Eagle pilots do today.
@TheMax212 its a nickname given to the mountainous terrain in Wales aka "The Roundabout" to U.S air crews, it is used by the military for training but we have seen civilian aircraft there..
@edj66 Yeah I know, not the first horrendous mistake they've made and I'm certain it wont be the last.........cant believe we have no carrier force at all!!
@jonny96 They are restricted to no lower than 500 FT AGL unlike the UK are allowed down to 250 FT AGL. Typically, the US Aircraft will stay at 1000 FT AGL for safety purposes.
@carlsberg1964 I agree, sorry about the cam shake but it was new and I didnt set it up right. A tripod isnt much use up there so its better to hand hold and use image stabiliser (which I didnt)
I have found Cad west area on Google Earth. is there somewhere in the valley you can park the car and get up the mountains?

I miss the Harrier. Are they American Harriers? Tell me not! That would just be too hard to bear.

@edj66 Nope they are not american harriers, they are RAF Cottesmore's finest UK brand :)

@S00000by In which case I miss them. Such a silly, short termist decision by this government.
