i am not for communism and some people can say he was traitor and so on but they will never be like Dean Reed even though they will want it because he was unique and strong person..he could do what many people could not...moreover he was very , very gifted person..
Two things. Dean Reed is one of the coolest dudes ever. His heart was squarely in the right place. Second, socialism doesn't work, because of human nature. People take advantage of capitalism, and take advantage of the poor. In socialism, the poor take advantage of those that do. Neither system is perfect, but I would rather reward those that actually do. 12% of all people on welfare actually need it. The rest just take the tax dollars of those that actually earn it.
I like Dean Rid is the charismatic singer and person without political part of his life.... i think it is a great loss that he died so early like rock legends of 20 st century...because he was interesting and should make show better by his presence.
Why "propaganda". Communism = No homeless, no prostitution, no unemploeyed, everything for free. An successfull society. So was it. Nothing is propaganda! Documentaries are not!

Thank you for your comment.However,the things which you say have factual mistakes.Dean Reed was a guest at the TV show '60 minutes' in the USA in 1986,after the show some Americans sent him letters in which they called him a traitor ,but he did not receive a letter from the US government.
Yes, exactly. The U.S. government spied on his activities, but there is no evidence they attempted to do anything to him when he was in the Soviet Union, or even when visiting the U.S.
However, collusion between CIA and local dictatorships in Latin America was probable.
