I don't think it's right to simply reverse the sign on the constant when you make the line perpendicular. You have to redo the point-slope-form equation from scratch. I get y = -7/6 x + 7/3. If you substitute (-4,7) in that, it works. Or, look at it intuitively. The constant is the Y intercept, and perpendicular lines that pass through the same point (unless that point is on the Y axis) will have different Y intercepts -- but NOT necessarily one that's the negative of the other.

you made a mistake. the perpendicular equation should be y=-7/6x+73/7. you had put a negative sign in front of 73/7 when you should leave it positive
