unfortunately, i'm prone to cavities no matter how much i brush my teeth. damn genetics. the drilling is fine, but i hate the shots. i'm hypersensitive to pain :/

Lol I just got it done today and I can't feel half my face.... I never had a cavity so this is my first time :) it wasn't bad at all... I didn't even feel the shot?? :)) I listened to music when they drilled so I was fine.

To be honest it isnt a comfortable feeling throughout. none of it hurts at all but its still uncomfortable. The shot actually isnt bad at all.i hardly felt a pinch. it just sucks knowing if you make any sudden move your mouth is fucked up lol. the drilling is 100% painless. its just the damn noise that jets annoying. the only time you really feel any amount of pain is when they water your mouth and then air blast it. that wasnt very comfortable at all. but overall, a painless experience.

I hadn't gone to the dentist in 7-9 years and I'm 15 and went two weeks ago to get a filling and I felt nothing it took an hour and a half and they filled two teeth and extract a root of a milk tooth it was great this seems good too

I just had a filling on a tooth today, and it did not hurt at all! i thought it would hurt even with the medicine but my metal composit is the same color of my tooth so its hard to see but i feel great:D

I wouldn't even opt to try this. I've had 6 cavities, 2 frontal crowns, and 2 root canals done (yes I take care of my teeth, most of my problems were a result of not taking care of them as a young teen and poor dentistry in the past), and the novocaine is NOTHING. if they use a topical gel beforehand you don't even feel the needle. And the drill sound is a bit unnerving, but if you feel anything painful, ask for more shots! And you definitely won't feel the second one. It's not that bad!!

O_Oi didnt know hat a root canal was until sometime last year and when i found out what it was, how long it took, the rumors, and that there was another procedure besides tooth pulling and filling i almost shit my pants ive never had a root canal but just thinking about it scares the shit out of me..

After affixing this material with ultraviolet light, more high toxic substances come up then. My dentist is only allowed to use silver, it also lasts 100 times longer. Anyone telling you dental amalgam (silver) fillings are toxic is a liar.

@TheOwlDaddy OHH yeah i agree with you there, cuz I have silver fillings in my teeth about 4 xD the procedure was actually painless. no pain at all. put the stuff on your gums,(so that yu cannot feel the needle) inject the novacaine and then do the actual procedure. then i got a silver filling. no problems at all with them. whatsoever. i like my dentist xD but now they are trying new things and some of the new things just aren't cutting it. =/

you kidding. The shots didnt hurt at all (maybe a little pinch). My dentist did it 4 times on the left side of my mouth and i think only one kinda hurt.

On the other hand, the drilling is a MOFO!! Hurts pretty bad but nothing i couldnt handle.

@xoxsimxox It doesn't hurt, I had friends who had laser fillings and they told me its painless, the only downside is if the cavity is too big then they have to use drills instead.

No. Not at all. Most dentist still use lidocaine injection as an anesthetic and a high powered pneumatic drill. However most dentist allow you the choice of amalgm or composite resin fillings.

I have a hard time at the dentist. My teeth are really sensitive. I have so many problems with me teeth and mouth. I have a very small mouth, which means there is no room. You do not want to be in the same room as me when I am geting a cavity filled, not pretty.
