i have one of these in whale blue with the abalone bird inlays. well worth every penny you would ever pay and then some. although if youre a metal player, id probably stay away from it, but for anything else under the sun, its the go to guitar.

I used to have a McCarty but took it back to Guit Center and walked out with a 1960 Custom Shop relic Strat - white or off white body with off green pickgaurd,rosewood neck. That had the vibe I was after. Never was much for the PRS stuff until this one came along. This is a must have for me.

i just played this guitar and let me say i am a gibson fan all the waand i must say the pickups on this beast reaalt sung such clarity i am saving to buy this it works well with my melody style of playin and clarity and ton but there was a 60 reissue dcgibson special tv yellow 4 500 bucks p-90s i coulgnt pass up so next time!

he talked about that in the video.  with the maple top, the sound is brighter. as he said, it "sparkles" a bit more

i was wondering if there was any bigger difference beyond the obvious of having a slightly different top, 'cause you never know. but now i know. it's good it doens't wierd out the sound, which is what i was worried about

humbuckers are basically two single coils put together to give a bigger les paul ish sound and cancel out more of the hum. A coil tap allows u to switch between the full humbucker mode or half the pickups so that ur using a single coil set up so u get a more twangy strat sound. Great feature if u like humbuckers and single coils but dont wanna have to switch guitars.

I bought one of these last month. I wrote PRS off long ago and thought they went downhill. I tried this on a whim and boy did it change my mind! I have played a 91 prs custom 24 as my #1 for 18 years(1000's of gigs) but this guitar is now my #1. It makes my original PRS sound weak along with every other guitar I own.

well, in (my) american dollar, teh maple top specifically is around $1800. so i guess you would cut that in half??? i dunnoo

You would think wouldn't you? But with taxes and import charges it really sucks. Should only be about 1,000 to 1,400 but with those added charges it'll work out at about 2,000 euro anyway. I'd be better off flying over and buying one in the sates. Ticket could be around 300, stay with relatives (free)... Yep, probably chaper haha...

QUESTION: Joe says the mini switch is a coil "tap." Is that correct or did he mean coil "split?"

Sorry, but no. Tapping is when you tap into the windings on a single coil. Splitting is when you drop a coil from a humbucker.
