whats the reason for switching from DTC to TWC and is DTC better then TWC? and what CSX Lines in the deep south use DTC still? and is CTC more common then TWC in that part of CSX territory?
The main benefit between DTC & TWX is flexability. With DTC you're limited to the basics of a block & my understanding is that you can't have trains moving in opposing directions within said block. With TWC (and a smart DP) they can move the trains to more points within the block liks a south or north end of a switch, spur, ect...
As for which subs are still in DTC I'm not sure. I know most changd at the same time (about 8 months ago) but I do know the Dothan sub is "Dark" if that matters.
You also asked if CTC is more or less common. I'd say about 50/50. The A&WP is roughly half CTC from Atlanta to a place called Gabbetsville close to the Al, Ga border. Rumor has it that CTC will be extended to Opelika soon and likely Montgomery there after. As said in a previous comment Dothan sub is dark. All others that I can think of (M&M, S&NA south & north, Lineville) around the general middle to lower Alabama area are already CTC as far as I know.
I have become accustomed to picking out train symbols through radio transmissions. Around (3:56) what I herd was: "Approach Main St. U228-13 South".Believe me around Hamlet, NC it gets harder, they hardly talk in the mic! Great shots man, I hope the info helps Hoolg!
interesting it seems like q600 released his auth. to the sas main street connection but had not yet released the one prior to that (from opelika), which i think is why the dispatcher prompted "i think you have another one to give up". i have a great twc line near my house but only 4 trains a day.
This is a great shooting location. I believe the signal call was U228-13 which would be an empty Wilsonsonville coal train. Unless they have changed, this would have been his northbound loaded number as well. Enjoyed it!
Great job! I like the transitions you have put between some scenes.

Thanks. I always try and have the transitions "make since" to me if that makes any since.

You got it I believe. I had a couple of others say the same so I changed the video info.
Thanks.

Man on the CSX A-line those crews say signals so fast you can even make anything out! It ticks me off sometimes!

Cool video! I've only been through LaGrange a couple of times. Looks like a great place to watch trains.

Excellent work. Another great video. Whats the deal on the track warrants? Seems like a step backwards to me.

i think it has to do with efficiency and the dispatcher's ability to fit more trains into an area instead of being restricted by the blocks.

Awesome vid! I'm surprised that they went to track warrants....are the signals dark now?

Nope, still in the same operation.
