great message. I really like your Scripture songs. There is power in God's Word and music is one of the best ways to put the Word in our hearts. May God continue to bless your ministry. It was a blessing running into you and your wife at camp meeting. I will try to get the 3 Hebrew song up sometime soon.
Thanks for blessing me with your song. It has a great message! I think you should get it published. It would be a great Sunday School or children's church choir number!
Howdy guitmartiman, Devylyn again. I was wondering if there is a way to get the chords to this song? I would love for my "music lady' to practice before our retreat. Everyone loves this song. It fits so perfect with our theme. I believe God had you write this song just for us. lol. I apprecaite you. have a great day!!
well i just wanted to say that u made it clear to me. i liked the song before, but love it even more so since i have read ur reponses to Evolved. your answers are truly spirit-spoken. Just because Jesus "Could" do something didnt mean he did it. Same as Satan tempting him in the desert. We could move mountains with our faith. but why whould we? Our faith could be used for so many greater things than just a show of power.
@Devylyn1 I appreciate your testimony! Faith is confidence in God's ability to move literal mountains, if necessary, but it is not our prerogative to decide what He ought to do, or how He ought to do it. Blessings on you!
@EvolvedParadigm Mountain moving is a paradigm shift. If we have only ourselves to depend on, mountains of difficulty can and will overwhelm us. If we, by faith, believe God when He says, all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to His purpose, mountains of difficulty will be removed, though nothing, by all outward appearances, may seem to have changed.
@guitmartiman I understand the metaphor, but what about that Matthew 17:20 suggests a paradigm shift? Jesus says "nothing will be impossible for you", after saying "if you have faith, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move". You don't think Jesus was being literal when he said that?
@EvolvedParadigm The paradigm shift in Matthew 17:20 is easy enough to understand. On the one hand, here is a mountain (Gerizim perhaps?) which creates an apparent insurmountable difficulty because of prejudice or whatever may be the situation. On the other hand, you have faith which transcends all difficulties, because it not only acknowledges, but appeals to the highest of authorities who is able to remove all difficulties. Faith is trust in something/ someone I can't see, but I know is there.
@EvolvedParadigm Moving a literal mountain into a literal sea is obviously not the burden of Jesus' message here. Aside from the destruction that would be caused by displacing that much water by a mountain, there is no need to understand this so literally. The message is simple. if you have and will exercise even the tiniest amount of faith, anything is possible. Faith, at least in this context, is not magic to be exercised on a whim. It's confidence in the promises of our Creator.
@EvolvedParadigm One could interpret it literally, and that would not be a manifestation of a lack of faith, but it isn't necessary to interpret it literally in order understand the message Jesus was trying to convey, which is that if you will exercise faith, anything is possible. I'm not sure why you're trying to pin me down on this, but that's as far as I'm willing to go. I am not an infallible interpreter of scripture.
@guitmartiman I am not trying to pin you down. My only interest is truth.
Forgive me for further prodding, but I still don't have a clear understanding. If you would, please respond one final time with a simple yes or no answer.
If you exercises faith in the smallest amount, can you verbally command the Sun to shrink, and have the sun do such? Yes, Jesus literally meant nothing is impossible. No, he didn't.
@EvolvedParadigm Why does it matter whether you have a clear understanding from me? Read the Bible for yourself. As I said before, I am not an infallible Bible interpreter. I will let the angel, Gabriel, answer you:
"For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37
And Jesus also said:
"With God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 & Mark 10:27
Hey guitarmartiman.....would it be possible to use this song at a church retreat we are having in February 2011?? we are just in the planning stage but our theme is "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed....." this is sooo appropriate. I would not use it without your permission. please reply....
This is awesome and so fitting fo me. I am new in my walk and a few months ago told the ministry I involved with that my faith was small as a mustard seed and tonight I told him I wasn't gonna live in fear I was gonna live in faith and he opened a door for me..he is amazing! Thank-you for blessing me with your song you put on here!
@likewowmanhey God is in the business of opening doors. We have but to walk through them with the faith that He has already measured out to every one of us (see Romans 12:3). Thank you for sharing your testimony! Blessings on you!
That's all right. I don't think Jesus was all that religious either when He lived among us. What I mean is, He lived what He taught, but He hardly ever did what the religious people thought He should have done. That makes me want to be like Him.
Jack, those words are so powerful and so true. And the melody fits it very well. I may have to play and teach it to others as well. Thanks for sharing it with us! God bless you and your family.
This song was a collaboration with a friend. I composed the music, and added the refrain, but most of the lyrics were actually a re-write of someone else's poem. I actually composed another melody for it originally that has more of a country flavor. I may record that version someday. I found the original micro-cassette recording of it I made in 2001 the other day. I agree, the message is quite powerful. That's why it was so easy for me to put it to music!
This one is quite good. But stronger lyric than melody. Anyways, If u can put some video about different finger picking style I would really really appreciate it. U know, I only like finger picking when I am singing, coz it can make me sing better.
Thank you for the Mountain Moving Mustard song and the lyrics you sent. I had fun listening to your words while reading them also. It deserves a five star which I gave it.

Absolutely wonderful lyrics, they really mean something. Almost like reaching out and blessing someone :) Thank you so much for posting this! God bless you x
This is amazing, the lyrics are so true. Thanks you blessed me today. It really streathed me and it reminded me of the truth. that if we just believe then we can actually move the mountians. And also the big mountians that are huge are so small to God. Thanks and God Bless.
You know, I had already commented on this video, but You Tube must have lost my comment. Anyway, I really like the song and it reminds me of some of the old Noel Paul Stookey material.
Very nice! Perfect range for your voice - which I could find nothing wrong with. Your folk-finger picking style is great. God has given you many talents to share with the world to spread His good news. Right on!
It a '70s vintage Giannini CraViola classical. You can find them from time to time on ebay. Don't buy a copy. They're not as good. Neither are the newer Gianninis.

I don't know why, but the melody somehow reminds me of "Dandelion Blues" from The Incredible String Band - and that's a good thing! :>
