I heard this piece of music many years ago, when I was a young man growing up in western Pennsylvania, of east slovakian/southern Poland ancestory, and identified with the melencholy mood then. Years later, I visited Prague (Praha) during the last breaths of communism, and this music brings back all of those memories. Thankyou! (Djkuvem!)
Nice thought. I agree, I think that the language of music can describe moods with much more subtlety than any words and connect diurectly with our emotions. I'm really glad you liked it.
Many thanks for your feedback. I manipulated the photographs using Paintshop Pro and built them as a sequence of slides in Powerpoint. I added the music and then used the slide show features of Powerpoint to synchronise the slide changes to the music as far as possible. I then converted the slide show into a video file. I'm delighted that you like the result. I've recently returned from a visit to Iran and hope to create a similar video of some of those photographs.
Thanks for commenting on the Prague video. I'm thrilled that you liked it. I wanted to create something a little different and for some of the pictures it seems to work really well.
Fascinating... Great photography!!!

I was there in January of 2008. The city looks a whole lot different with out all the snow and gray skies!

If melancholia could be distilled into music, this would be it. Beautiful.

on the other hand, I lived in Oakland (CA) for a year. People are not so friendly as they say.

@albertdeterrassa I think everyone's experience is different. You never know who you'll meet anywhere you go.
