  • I am in love with this version. Should have stuck with this, I love the little intro and instrumental part, I love this song, it reminds me of a music box with a beautiful melody.

  • It's important to note that the title is not just "My Prince is On His Way," but rather it's "My Prince is Already On His Way."

  • i think i like better this version and it is like it is a completely different song than the one sang in the english verison

  • I found that several efforts trying to adapt musical pieces from French to other languages failed. Verdi's Don Carlo and this Les Miserables are both victims. Perhaps we'd better just enjoy the original only.

  • Cette chanson ma fais pleurer pendant des années..

  • Is it just me, or does the English version have almost NO similarities to the French? My French isn't wonderful, but they seem to be singing two fundamentally different songs...one my Prince is on the way, the other castles on a cloud?

  • @chucksuit You're right. :) In this Cosette sings of her prince coming to save her someday (like Cinderella basically) while in English she speaks of a castle in her dreams where she sometimes (unknowingly to her) meets her mother.

  • @chucksuit You are right. To translate a song from one language to another is more difficult than text translation, which is hard enough. It does not work to translate most of the original Les Mis directly into English, because so much would be - forgive the cliche - "lost in translation", and it would also sound "clumsy".

  • Je ne peux rien que crier...

  • Almost sounds like medieval or rennaisance music. i like this better

  • je l aprend en musique ke c jolie a chanter !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Solitude de l'Enfance, misère et maltraitance, et... attente de celui qui vous sortira de de là. Réel ou virtuel, il soulage la douleur morale, bien plus affreuse que la douleur physique..

  • The first few lines makes the song much sadder than Castle In The Cloud.

    "She'll beat me anyway

I know, but I'm used to it now

And it hurts me less than being lonely."

  • jésus christ il viendra le dernier!

  • jarrive pas a la télécharger :(

  • why does it have to be cut off at the end :(

  • not on youtube actually... but if you look on itunes its the 1991 edition (patis theatre mondragor...) you can buy it...and if you dont wanna pay hmmm....i dont know...lol

  • actually the second french version is more close to the book and so much better(the one from boubil and schoenberg but the 2nd one)

  • *sniff*

I think the original version of Mon Prince Est En Chemin Deja is better than the English or the Dutch translation. Not saying the translations are bad, but in this song Cosette is thinking much more realistic and that matches the original story a little more than the translations, in which she sings about a castle... But the musical is amazing, in every language.

Beautiful. This song makes me cry...

  • dans la version au québec cétait des poupées dans une vitrines

  • En fait dans la version française aussi c'est "Une poupée dans la vitrine" mais cette version et celle du "concept original". Car avant d'être la comédie musicale des Misérables que nous connaissons, originaire d'Angleterre, elle avait été présenté en France où cela avait été un véritable flop! Les Anglais l'ont remanié et donné la version que nous connaissons aujourd'hui! Voilà, c'était la tranche d'histoire :-)

  • "Mon Prince Est En Chemin Déjà" literally translates as "My prince is on his way"

  • Cette chanson c'est trop adorable en francaise...je l'aime beaucoup!

  • @LightofBeauty oui je sais , c'est formidable !♥☺♥

  • This is the original song, "Mon prince est en chemin", which was adapted in the english version as "Castle On A Cloud", and then there was a french version of that english version, in the 1990s french version of the show, and it was called "une poupée dans la vitrine". So now there are two french versions of the same song!

  • It is translated as "Castle On A Cloud".

  • No, the English version of the song is Castle on a Cloud, it's not translated into Castle on a Cloud. There's a big difference. The translated version is "My Prince is on his way"

  • @mildetryth It is translated as My prince is on his way but it doesn't sound good in English so that's probably why they changed it.

  • whats this song called in english?
