I got it a while ago. It's OK. No front can, its quick tho. But not the quickest. All in all, its cheap and good, but If I could do it again, I wouldn't get it.
@2012Scooters its an excellent phone. It only has one core which is kinda outdated but it is still rly fast. It's also very thin and pocketable and has a huge display. I would recommend it
lisa my phone (HTC inspire 4g) screen is completly black and if i try to turn it on it vibrates 5 times and wont turn on and when i tired to hard reset it but it does the same thing , I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or whats wrong with my phone !
@superpiff420 Nobody tells us to condemn rooting, and I root devices that don't do the things I want without rooting. That said, most do meet my needs without rooting.
the battery is a friggin pain to get to if you dont have nails......and even then...enjoy breaking them.
other than that the phone is great! froze on me twice, dont know what that was about....but so far, the inspire worked without any problems. 4G is fast, the camera and vid cam are great.
I was able to catch this one during a sales event at radio shack and I didn't have to pay a penny for the phone itself. Just had to pay the deposit and sign up for the contract and I was ready to go, it has been a great phone so far. I love the fact that it can connect to the internet via WiFi. So many great things about the phone, and the display is just absolutely awesome.
I have this phone and it is great the only problems is that once in a full moon flames came out of the speaker. Jk but the only problem that I have with it is that it freezes but other then that its a great phone
I need help deciding whether to keep my HTC Inspire or trade it in for the 4S. I love both but I already have an iPod touch 4 so I can already do a lot of things that the iPhone can. Help?
@ecwfan93 well on paper, the htc vivid is faster. it has a 1.2ghz dual core (vivid) vs the 1ghz single core (inspire), also the vivid has a larger screen (4.5) vs the inspire (4.3) and a higher resolution screen (960x540) vs (480x800) on the inspire. the inspire is without a doubt a really, really good phone and i absolutely love it, but since the vivid is newer, its a better future proof purchase. though as far as a hacking/porting community, the inspire obviously has a larger base. my 2cents.
@emehly9356 Get it. I love this phone(had it for about 2 months) It feels and is very impressive. Very strong. Keep in mind if you are a young lady who likes to keep you phone in your back pocket, this may be a bit large though
@emehly9356 My AT&T phone was due for an upgrade a while back so I chose a refurbished HTC Inspire. I didn't have a data plan before and I don't now, and the phone works fine with my old SIM card. I only use WiFi. I don't think you necessarily need a data plan to use this phone.
Hey I know that the HTC Inspire is an absolute amazing phone but I was wondering if the iphone 4s would be better for me and im 16? I love the design and the screen on this phone but i was wondering if the iphone had special features that the HTC didnt? thank you.
@RRaider6 the 4s out dates the Inspire. You will get faster speeds, better pictures, a front facing camera, and more; keep in mind that the 4S is more expensive. If i am correct, At&t offers the inspire for free with a 2 yer warranty.....that is a deal! I own the Inspire and I love it, but it does have a few flaws. The screen is hard to see when in the sun, the battery is a little weak, but will get you through a full day. Some people hate the speaker, but i think its fine. good luck!
I have this phone and it's amazing, I love it. It's my first android phone, and it's easy and just perfect. The only bad thing about it is that it doesn't have a physical QWERTY keyboard, and for that reason I'm gonna get an HTC G2. But seriously, this phone rocks. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I have an Unlimited texting plan. does this count for data?
I don't want to have to pay for internet just to have a smartphone. It's a waste of money. But if i HAVE to, then that cuts away a bunch of phones I am looking at to purchase. Including this one
@staind420 But these phones also come with built in wifi. So while you still have to get a data plan, you can just get their cheapest one (200 MB for only $15 extra a month) and just use wifi. Thanks Lisa, a nice general looksee. I did have a few areas of curiosity left unquenched. The 720p video capture, Geocoding, 802.11n connect, codecs for video recording and playback, barcode tag reading, print to networked printer. On my trusty if not crusty Kaiser, I have TomTom. Does that sort of stuff work with these? My first thought Is that it will not due to an OS conflict with winmobile vs android.
@RWRamo We covered more info in our full written review. Check that out. There are GPS navigation and maps on Android. Google's own navigation and maps are free, but there is also TeleNav, CoPilot, Navigon, etc. for Android. I don't believe TomTom does, they offer a fleet management software for businesses on Android.
@MobileTechReview Thanks for the lightspeed feedback, checked the review. That cut back the list of things to answer, and added a few. I notice a few bits on this thread with concerns over battery life. I have been using a Kai100 (att 8925) for some time now. It had a 12k battry that started to get a bit short on poop. A $4 replacement which dimentionaly is the same size is a 15k something battery. And does last a lot longer. Although my use is plugged mostly in car lighter or home AC

This may be a strange question but can you put a pass code on it for when you unlock it? I know most android run phones have it but im just curious if the HTC has it.
I have this phone with my 3g sim card but the phone gives me an option to use wifi only for everything if i dont have a data plan. will at&t make me use a data plan anyways? i'm afraid theyre gonna upgrade my plan without telling me. i dont want to be the next dude on tv with 586473600000 dollars to pay for over use
I don't get why everyone who tries to take off the back tries to grab it the way they do. it comes off fairly easy if you grab it from the ends of the phone rather than trying to push it down on the larger surface. hard to describe but i hope you get what i mean. The battery one is indeed hard to get off though.
@LittleVato33 If you turn the phone over, there is a piece on the right hand side that slides off. It's on there pretty well, but I assure you it comes off! :D
If you know someone who wants a (no longer offered) at&t unlimited plan for their iphone 4, or 4S, (ANY smartphone for at&t) please give them my number. I charge a $50 flat fee to get it added to your account.
I can get you on a (((no longer offered))) unlimited AT&T Data plan for your iPhone 4S. Also Any Android smartphone, or iPhone, as well as a windows 7 smartphone.
Please do yourself a favor and don't buy it. I have had one since July 2nd-it is currently October-and it...well, it sucks. The battery life is awful, HTC Sense crashes at least twice a month, messaging is slow, reception is awful, it lags like a motherfucker, music playback has gone from alright to terrible (it deleted all my playlists, it randomly stops music, etc.) WiFi reception is a piece of shit, and the whole phone isn't worth it. But the camera. The camera is amazing.
@TaKKtiiKZz Uh lets see.. First off Im not an apple fan boy, I don't even own one of their products. And yes, the iPhone 4S is the best mobile phone to hit the market. So before you start trolling on YouTube, why dont your start reviewing the iPhone 4S.
@TaKKtiiKZz The frequency of a processor does't matter, cache does. iDevice's IOS Operating system is easily jailbroken to be personalized anyway you like it. Stop making your retarded MW2 videos and get a girlfriend or even better, a life.
@Roger5970 Wanna know the funny thing? EVEN W/O ROOTING AN ANDROID YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE IT MORE THAN A JAILBREAK IPHONE and who cares if I make MW2 videos that wasn't part of our discussion which proves you are an idiot looking for a way out NICE TRY ASSHOLE.
@TaKKtiiKZz Uhh, lets see. 1st off when you jailbreak a IOS device, you can do alot more than just personalize. You can get free games, apps, etc. And well, I just made it a part of our conversation, didn't I?
@Roger5970 Easily jailbroken, yes. But I remember reading an article a while back about Apple trying to patent a device that will allow them to remotely disable detected jailbroken iPhones. Not saying iPhones aren't great phones, but I just want something that allows me to do whatever I want, even if doing so may compromise the performance of the phone. If the iPhone would give me options, like using flash, I would buy one.
@waad451 If you use free WiFi to access the Internet and download apps, it's free. If you use carrier's data network, then you pay for their data service. As for the apps, some are free some are paid for.
@5216l That would depend on how you count the beans. You pay for internet access, and probably your connect device is a modem with some ethernet ports and a wifi radio built in. Exampled by the 2wire 2700 "home portal" that comes with ATT ADSL. It is a modem+ethernet router+802.11g WiFi access point. Some Malls, Restaurants, shops have an access point such as Mac you know who. Some hotels, gas stations, restaurants sell a day use for a couple of bucks.
This is such a cool looking phone. I was all set to get it and looked at a few user forums. A lotta folks unhappy with the battery life, the sound quality and the signal strength. I'm not sure why this couldn't receive a signal when other phones could in the same place, but enough folks mentioned it to be aware of this. Might still get it if the bugs are worked out.
Even tho I dont have the phone yet which I will be doing soon. I think that the battery cover is on tight for a reason and I think the reason is that im a person that loves to drop my phone and every single time I do, my battery falls out. So thats why i think its on there tight. but why would you wonna take the battery out anyways? :/
@dontbpanzee i have the htc inspire and i love it w/ freedom of personilization but dont know much about the infuse but know that the samsung infuse is now $99.99 from at&t and i bought my htc for the same price but the samsung also has a 1.3 megapixel as for the htc it doesnt but still a great phone.
@MrSimpleTUTS nah man thats its real value to get it unlocked.... in my country carriers dont provide awesome deals like where u guys are, u guys r lucky! we buy it in the real price.... n im getting it from ebay 240$ which is a good deal for me as over here its around 360$ if not more...
@Trancaholic07 you can get it for 20 dollars online refurbished true but your stuck with a 2 year contract and if you actually pay the 400 dollars or less if used your not stuck with the 2 year contract. ~True~
Someone help me on my decision... i love this phone love the build love htc sense but the battery life is pretty bad, so my bday is on wednesday should i get this or wait for the samsung galaxy s2 which will be a nice phone with a better processor better screen front facing camera but atleast $200
First, I see that Andriod 2.3.3 is now available to update this phone. One of the listed features for 2.3.3 is better battery life, presumeably thru power management. There are also some driod apps that extend battery life. Just search the andriod marketplace. Finally, the HTC comes with something like a 1230 mah battery. If you look on Ebay, you can get an 1800 mah battery pretty cheap.

@LittleVato33 If you turn the phone over, there is a piece on the right hand side that slides off. It's on there pretty well, but I assure you it comes off! :D
TheMicah6 4 months ago
Question: How do you slide the battery OUT?
LittleVato33 4 months ago

i have this phone its great!:) i was wondering is it gonna get icecreamsandwich or what ever android 2.4 called mines has 2.3
hello3602 4 months ago
Please do yourself a favor and don't buy it. I have had one since July 2nd-it is currently October-and it...well, it sucks. The battery life is awful, HTC Sense crashes at least twice a month, messaging is slow, reception is awful, it lags like a motherfucker, music playback has gone from alright to terrible (it deleted all my playlists, it randomly stops music, etc.) WiFi reception is a piece of shit, and the whole phone isn't worth it. But the camera. The camera is amazing.
kissmmysass123 4 months ago
hmm should i get this or iphone 4, or something else, anybody have some ideas?
Dontpickmelast101 4 months ago

Is it Better than the iPhone 4s>?
AutumnDemon 5 months ago
@AutumnDemon Of course not, iPhone 4S is the best phone ever created.
Roger5970 5 months ago
@Roger5970 Lol apple fanboy GTFO it is not the best phone created as of right now that is Samsung Galaxy s2 Droid > Apple
TaKKtiiKZz 5 months ago
@TaKKtiiKZz Uh lets see.. First off Im not an apple fan boy, I don't even own one of their products. And yes, the iPhone 4S is the best mobile phone to hit the market. So before you start trolling on YouTube, why dont your start reviewing the iPhone 4S.
Roger5970 5 months ago
@Roger5970 Lol learn your shit s2 has a 1.2 dual core iphone has 1.0ghz and a bigger screen more customization lol your dumb.
TaKKtiiKZz 5 months ago
@TaKKtiiKZz The frequency of a processor does't matter, cache does. iDevice's IOS Operating system is easily jailbroken to be personalized anyway you like it. Stop making your retarded MW2 videos and get a girlfriend or even better, a life.
Roger5970 5 months ago
@Roger5970 Wanna know the funny thing? EVEN W/O ROOTING AN ANDROID YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE IT MORE THAN A JAILBREAK IPHONE and who cares if I make MW2 videos that wasn't part of our discussion which proves you are an idiot looking for a way out NICE TRY ASSHOLE.
TaKKtiiKZz 4 months ago
@TaKKtiiKZz Uhh, lets see. 1st off when you jailbreak a IOS device, you can do alot more than just personalize. You can get free games, apps, etc. And well, I just made it a part of our conversation, didn't I?
Roger5970 4 months ago
@Roger5970 Easily jailbroken, yes. But I remember reading an article a while back about Apple trying to patent a device that will allow them to remotely disable detected jailbroken iPhones. Not saying iPhones aren't great phones, but I just want something that allows me to do whatever I want, even if doing so may compromise the performance of the phone. If the iPhone would give me options, like using flash, I would buy one.
bgoodrick 4 months ago
@bgoodrick That will never happen. Jailbreaking iPhones isn't legal. And apple cannot track them as it would be illegal.
Jailbreaking: Consumer Rights
Unlawful Tracking: Invasion of Privacy

do you have to use the internet when you get the apps? can you get the apps for free?
waad451 5 months ago
@waad451 If you use free WiFi to access the Internet and download apps, it's free. If you use carrier's data network, then you pay for their data service. As for the apps, some are free some are paid for.

i know this a dumb question but do i pay for wifi?
5216l 5 months ago
@5216l fuck no
jomanimo24 5 months ago
@5216l No, you don't.
MobileTechReview 5 months ago

I can't wait to get this phone

Even tho I dont have the phone yet which I will be doing soon. I think that the battery cover is on tight for a reason and I think the reason is that im a person that loves to drop my phone and every single time I do, my battery falls out. So thats why i think its on there tight. but why would you wonna take the battery out anyways? :/

@jrhaggerty20
