wow how many strawberries were sacrificed for this cake haha. The kid is so cute ; i love when she trys to take the cup of ingredients and her mom just denies it haha.
@quixotic115 I thought I was the only one who noticed that little moment. Thanks for making a comment and I think it is funny that it invoked Matt Damon voice for you. lol....
@akeille1 Glad you liked the video and the recipe. It is soon strawberry season so I hope you get the chance to make it with some real ripe local berries.
@8ball1222 You can put the cake in the fridge, but you need to serve it that day. This is a very fresh cake that doesn't last very long. I find the leftovers can last another day in the fridge but it is pretty tired after that. I don't find that you have much leftovers.
@SuJuFan110022 There can be many reasons the whipped cream doesn't whip. The chef in the family found that using organic whipping cream does a far better job than non-organic varieties. (there are additives in Non-organic cream) If the cream is a bit off and chilling your bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10 mins is helpful as well.
I think one of my fondest childhood memories is baking with my grandmother and getting to lick the beaters and spatulas. She never worried about me getting salmonella or contaminating my family with my kid germs. But your kitchen hygiene concerns are valid albeit not very fun. I think any kid friendly chef would have multiple spatulas and spoons on hand for just such an occasion, and teach your child the importance of washing hands etc. Guess all of those lessons got lost in the edit :-)
Wow, really nice, it look very good :o Thanks for the recipe, I will try it but im sure it won't be as good as your one was, im not experienced in cooking XD :P

i tried this but my batter was yellow, not white. How did you get it to be color white ?
jstbrwzn 2 years ago
The batter is a bit yellow, it just doesn't show well in the video. Guess the amount of yellow would depend on the color of your egg yolks.
