@dantae666 Well of course the Z3M has higher BHP than the Z4 standard, that's what the M represents. On the other hand the Z4M has more power than the Z3M. Duh. :) I have have a 3.0 Z4 almost identical to the one in this vid- 231 BHP which by today's standards isn't all that and if I'm honest I'd like more but it's certainly not 'awful', still quicker than about 95% of other cars on the road. The Porsche is the better car but much more expensive to buy and run.

For those of you who are saying, "the Boxster out-handles any 911 and could be a much better car if Porsche gave it a more powerful engine," you are wrong. The Cayman should replace the 911 (hardtops are inherently more hardcore than convertibles). The Boxster was never about straight line speed. If anything, the smaller, lighter engine in the base Boxster makes it less heavy and more nimble.

I was going to buy a Boxster but my friends told me there's no way they'd let me do that because when someone sees a Boxster they know you bought it because you can't afford a 911/carerra/etc...

But with a BMW Z4...it's a Z4...it's BMW. Personally, if it weren't for peer pressure, I think the Boxster does look more rare, and also more refined, while the Z4 is a more fun drive.

You are so wrong. Boxter S handles better than 911. Porsche is deliberately keeping it slower than 911 to protect 911 franchise. But Boxter S has more superior bones than 911. Test drive it and you'll know it for yourself

Although I prefer the 911 the boxster really is a fabulous car, it could be a hell of a lot faster but like the cayman the 911 is what stops it!

That's also true...and I really do like the new boxsters because they are magnificent pieces of engineering. They're definitely more rare than the Z4's too. I think I may sell the Z4 and pick one up this summer.

Porsche is men's car. Women usually prefer softer car. There is no way Porsche will ditch enormously profitable 911 franchise. They will never give Boxster S the engine it truly deserves. Boxster S is already faster at the track than 911 Carrera that has 70 more HP. Can you imagine a BoxsterS with 370 HP engine? Better yet, give it the turbo engine and it will be out hunting Ferraris and Lambo's.

tiff is a good driver.....so i've heard, BUT clearly he's doing it wrong shifting down to first at 0:52 and 2:00 of this clip, you can see how it effects his lap time, he falls off his pace. I dont think its a good idea to engage 1st at that speed.
