Boring, the worst fusion you can get. It all sounds like a tired rehash of 70's Billy Cobham, All the jazz as been suffocated till it sounds like metal AGHHHHH!!! Try listening to Chick Corea's electric band, now they play fusion/
. Mind you fusion sounds more old-fashioned then bop to me. Pass me the Bird and Dizzy love, ok you have your way bluetrain- Coltrain's cool!!
I saw theses guys several times during this incarnation and later when they added Brian Auger!!!!! Talk about "Stop The Presses?!?!?!" I would go see them 1000 times if they would do it another 1000 times! LOL Got some great footage I may post later. Much Love you guys!
@Slipstream0001 i'm sure among other reasons, one of the main reasons is cause they have drummers like dennis who are super busy with gigs all around the world
@MartyDIY You know those girls that thought it was exciting to out with a musician but just can't take another 'Frickin' rehearsal. That's my girl, so now I leave her at home.
I think, not this important thing, the groove are simple or not. The more important thing how to play it! Feeling and time! Mr. Chambers the groovemaster!
NOT THAT I COULD DO ANY BETTER WHATSOEVER, but some of those little licks at the end of the measures were pretty sloppy. Again, I COULD NOT DO BETTER. =p But great otherwise. Very gymnastic-like!
Bunny rips for a Frech guy...listen to "Ivanhoe" and Micheal O'Neil shreds some JazzRock lines throughout that album. Tony rips, but Greg Howe (both neoClassicist) is better at the fusion vibe. Better yet get Scott Henderson or Holdsworth and you have truly arrived!
Wonderful stuff, all amazing musicians. Sometimes the best stuff happens when musicians just chill out and play, with no worries about the audience.
Bunny, way back when your BB70 (?) came out from Carvin, I wanted to buy it, but couldn't afford it at the time, because I was a lazy high school student. I ended up settling and buying the LB20, and was still satisfied. Anyway, if it hadn't been for the BB70, I probably wouldn't have even considered Carvin at the time.
Good thing a musical legend like you can offer all that experience and knowledge to newbs like McAlpine, Brunel, Joe Walsh... not even Carvin will compensate for an incompetent player. Go practice.
Great to see Tony playing fusion, this should be a lesson to all those neoclasic Yngwie Malmsteen clones: stop playing exercises and do some phrasing.

@ergge35441 I'd say "relatively" simple... a lot of subtleties going on which is what makes it so great

Sounds like my band when we are just warming up before we play actual music. Carvin guitars are the worst POS on the planet. LOL

haha, I love this stuff. that drummer is off the scale...he's smashing triplets out his ass and his face is so chilled its like he's taking a whiz.

fusion is more tactful playing it requires a little more focus and concentration
cm92129 5 years ago
fusion seems like the next level up from shredding. lots of shredders migrate that way.

look for "conjunction" by a band called "casiopea" you'll probably like that.
