The fight was good and everything, but I thought the ref played a role in mir's victory. The reason I state this because the ref can not tell nogueira to not hit in the back of the head when mir is positioning himself into that position, which then led to nogueira attempt the submission.

i can understand rematches if the fight was a draw, or was close, or the judges were drunk and gave the decision to the wrong guy, or if one guy dominated for 4 and a half rounds before getting caught in a triangle.....but to have a rematch when it was ended so decisively with a tko in the begining of the 2nd round is unwarranted and insulting to the victorious fighter.

Mir will probably beat Big Nog again, but seriously Frank Mir has his head in the clouds, and the second he steps into the octagon with someone really good again, he's going to get grounded quick. Perhaps he'll run into some Carwin uppercuts again and send him halfway back down the ladder. Mir used to be good, but the fact he thinks he getting better still really bothers me. He carries himself like that in his personal life aswell. Just thinks he's absolutely better than everyone.

They should stop having rounds in UFC. They should let the fighters fight until one either gives up or gets knocked out. No more going to decision. The fight will go on until someone definitively wins. No more of this pussy shit. And imo, if were going to have a fighting championship, we might as well go back to gladiator days and have a sport with swords to the death.

i think this will look just like the first match, maybe an even quicker KO for murr. Murr has added size and power since the first fight and he won that fight easily. i love big Nog, i have never been happier than when he knocked out shaub but murr is one of the worst match ups for nog.

no, Hell NO Frank. Big Nog has not been ranked #1 HW in the world since getting overthrown by Fedor. And Josh Barnett, Couture, and Arlovski were all ahead of Big Nog. Remember, he was getting whooped by Tim Sylvia in the 1st and 2nd round before finally catching him in the guillotine in the 3rd. What I don't get is that with Frank Mir the UFC almost always comments on his motorcycle accident, but make no reference to the fact that Minotauro was hit by a truck as a kid and at first his parents were told he'd never live and then that he'd never walk. But now he's one of the best heavyweights of all time?

@petethespud I think the difference is that it happened to Mir when he was in his prime. But yeah the Nog vs Truck story is interesting. They talked about that stuff when he first came to the UFC. I got the impression that, despite not actually being that old, he'd already suffered quite a bit of battle damage in his life and career.
