If being a Muslim is enough to be dropped from the team, then why was he selected and played 31 Test matches? He was dropped because he was inconsistent. He had an average of only 34.10 as compared to his replacement Gautam Gambhir who averages 46.67. Jaffer was never going to replace Sehwag with an average over 50.
He was a great batsman on his day and prolific in domestic cricket, but was inconsistent in international cricket.
Accusations are easy to make, but facts will remain facts.
