That happened about a month after I left Alamance county and went to California. Back in NC now. Something tells me NC will be heating up when it comes to severe storms/tornadoes in the coming years.
thanks, i love thhese kind of storms my brother farther and i go omn camping trips alot but mostly only when this kind of wheather is predicted i have always been fascinated by the destrutve power of mother nature my favorite is lightning how it can be so deadly but useful at the same time
Great Video! should have seen the one that hit here last year in Louisville Kentucky.. Wasnt even a severe thunderstorm warning, until after it started, Had about 105 MPH winds, stop signs were bent, transformers litterly exploded all over the place, purple and orange sparks everywhere, only pea sized hail, but damn it was the best storm i ever experienced. And I stood out in the majority of it, couldnt find my way to my front door the wind and rain was so intense, I couldnt even see it.
wow! look at that gust front! nice storm, definitely a monster :P if you see a gust front, it usually means no tornadoes. atleast that's what makes sense as tornadoes drop from inflow based storms. a gust front (shelf cloud) means the storm is outflow based, i think. still a nice sight to see!
At around 4:50 i love that sight before a big storm. When its light out but the clouds are making it like a dark eerie kinda place. I especially love when it begins to rain and you get that like asphalt (cant spell haha, the ground) smell when the rain hits it.
