  • Beautiful!

  • can i use the milk and vinegar plastic for covering the wire base????

  • @starwarsgijoefan yes, definitely.

  • @epicfantasy thanks and can i ask again can i also make polymer/bake able clay for the wire base???

  • it is cheat not to buy them at the shop :(

  • can u get the rubber and plastic from hobby lobby or big lots?

  • Do you know to make warhammer 40000 miniatures just like they are in the pics pls make a tutorial if you know PLS

  • I love your videos but I am wish I could see more detail. Maybe try macro mode on your camera when your are recording.

  • @Fidololler thanks for watching. Part of the thing is me learning how to make a good video! I am learning, just got a new camera too. Hopefully the next vids about miniatures will be better!

  • i bought a few larger miniatures with pretty good detail that I want to recast, I was thinking about for the parts that cant be cast because they are too complex I could possibly cut the mini really finely at joints and things. then cast them and pin them back together, do you think that would be a wise way to do minis that like yours cant be dont easily because of the positioning of parts?

    Thanks. Andrew.

  • @kentsmedblom Yes, that would work. Some artists do it that way.. It's a lot of work though.

  • @epicfantasy Would you know a better way thats easier? Thats the only way I could think of that would be realy effective. Andrew.

  • @kentsmedblom not really, casting complex minis can be a challenge. Can you send a picture? Maybe I can take a look and suggest an alternative.

  • @epicfantasy hi there,

I was wondering if you could give me a list of substitute items you used which would be available in australia - i don't know where to get the plastic cast for mold.

Also, i heard i could use vaseline or windex as a sub for mold release, is that true?

Great video - very easy to understand BTW.

    - thanks in advance!

  • @brainofjung I am not sure what products are available in australia! The vaseline does work well. NOt sure about the Windex.

  • Where can I get the rubber and plastic?

  • @CheesyRhino The company is called smooth-on. I get it right through amazon.

  • I am amazed and cant wait to do this for myself as well :) Inspired I am.

  • What kind of plastic resin did you use?

  • wow this is awesome thank you very much for posting this! I am going to try this for my Flames of War mins. Just need the recipe! Thanks again!

  • cool mushroom=)

  • u rule my friend :)

  • Holy crap, your skilled

  • Nice work, Will! You are very talented! Can't wait to do some sculpting and mold-making myself come autumn when the outside chores slow down and I get to stay inside to "play" like you do.

Great website, too! Lots of good information on subjects I enjoy.

  • @13thBear Thanks, I really enjoy the sculpting. Wish I had more time to do more of it. Keep me posted and send me pics of your sculpting and mold making!

  • did you made the lizard out of clay?o some sort of other thing?

  • @SimpleYTaccount I made the first lizard out of sculptors modeling clay. It hardens in about two hours. Then I used that to cast rubber molds and plastic to make lots of duplicates.

  • I wonder how it would have turned out had you not based the original model (would you be able to cast it without the space between his legs you filled). To be honest, Will, that lizard warrior looked amazing before it was filled in between the legs. Just wondering on your thoughts. Great share! :)

  • Nice vid. The poject is comimg along well.

  • you should put burried tresure in there, you will see a small little gap (when looking at it from the side) with no path down to it and it has a treasure chest in it

  • @MrPretzelStickz This is a great idea. I love the idea of hidden buried trease that we can see but the adventurers in the diorama can't. I think I will do this, I have already sculpted and cast too many treasure chests!

  • Nice work & video:)

That dioramma is coming along and looking great!

  • Great tutorial.

  • Pretty cool. I think you won't have had to fill in the gap between the legs if you just played with the placement of the parting line plus the silicone is pretty flexible so you could have probably pushed it around a bit to pop your miniature out even if it did get a little stuck.

  • Will, It is still possible to mold around those undercuts. Depending on the silicon you are using for your mold. You can cut gaps in the silicon to allow the undercuts to release. Alternatively you can us Alginate as an investment mold. Nice work though, I wish I could sculpt half as good as you can.

  • what did u use for the sculpting detail on the wire guy?

  • "I had a little extra green stuff, so I made a mushroom." My kind of logic... :D

  • @NotComingHome hahaha lmao your funny
