All right, that's it. I'm getting sick of seeing my Inbox packed with "PUSSY" comments over that year old comment I made, which I can barely remember.
If memory serves me right, it must have been about religion or something. I come from a very strict family of Christians that would rather not see The faith put into fictious media too often, since we believe it violates the Commandment of producing graven images. No one said it was right or reasonable, nor was it intended to slam this series.
@TheHikariOne Yeah, I saw the comment calling you a wuss and I removed it. It's a shame some people can't deal with opinions in a mature way. Sorry about that.
This is the one song I've been addicted to lately. :)
One of the things I wish would happen more often in RPGs is the growing up thing. Ryu went from being a little kid to still fighting when he grows up. He's been fighting and becoming a hero just about his whole life... The only other thing I can think of that's like that is Ocarina of Time.
I like this one better than the second one, the second one carries destiny and meaning, something which adult Ryu seeks like all adults. This one holds freedom to do what one wants with his friends, something all children seek.
@SVWillmer Honestly I believe that feeling stays the same with some grown-ups as well! (this song could have been THE only bof 3 overworld theme and still be memorable)
better late than never, i'd consider this in between fusion and smooth jazz. it has some more complex jazz chords/chord movement, but a very simple melody over the top and the solos are all on basically a 2 chord vamp. wide use of instrumentation as well, including funky rhythm guitar. since jazz is a huge umbrella of a genre in itself, its very difficult to really put this into one subgenre since it has a lot of different elements.
I love this song, but I dunno about it's use in BoF3. I guess it's supposed to represent "carefree" childhood days, but it just doesn't fit. Just my opinion of course. All in all, a good song on its own.
I liked BOF, BUT now that I'm older.... the religious content in 3 kinda has me nervous about playing again. Not that I'm atheist or anything ( I'm Christian). i just don't think it's necessary for make-belive influence.
It might offend some audiences, but I had a good time with it! ( until it broke over the summer...DX)
The point of BoF3 is not that religion is bad or something. It's about not trusting blindly and not putting your life in the hands of someone else, and about not judging one on his origins.
@ILOVETODANCELOL And there's another important message: We're living the techno age. Maybe if we don't take care of each other, the world maybe turn into a giant desert too.
As the bible says, truth from the mouth of babes. When one is a child one is innocent and untainted by knowledge of good and evil (sins of the father). As Jesus said, suffer the little children and come unto me.
Let your childlike part of you free once more and such things will not plague you :) One needs not religion, or belief to justify ones existence or to live. Simply be who you are and what you feel within your heart and nature and peace will follow and grow with you.
@Myriachan Ha, I understand that. But to be honest, I don't remember much about BoF 3 that compelled me to make that year-old comment in the in the first place. That's why I got so flustered when folks kept spamming my comment/inbox with slanderous nonsense...I don't know if you saw any of it, but it was a major headache.
Breath Of Fire III is one of the only games that can stir nostalgia with such simplicity, it was a game of the era and could never be recreated again......
@AkumaUchitoru Nah...you're just paranoid. The game industry will be healed eventually but its going to have take something unprecedented they would have to permit and risk losing some money. Although I can't imagine they would lose any since we'd all love to have games that were more or less like the old classic ones but they'd have better graphics.
Awesome game and music, brings back many memories.
You can't find such good games any longer, old school stuff like suikoden, breath of fire or star ocean. Final Fantasy used to be awesome but is not any more. I see only shitty RPGs these days.
Some songs really stir my heart with emotion. It makes my heart race and gives me goosebumps. This song is epic and so full of feeling. it feels so nostalgic.
I know. :) Not enough songs and games are like that though, ya know? People might even think that games, shows, movies and so don't even have much meaning and is not based on real life anyway or at least the current word around you.
But even back than in the 1990's, being in North Austin RRISD anyway from the U.S.A., I have to say the real world and even my family really sucked at the time... Making me suck sometimes, even now, though I'm trying so hard to be a good person...
In some ways, the most meaningful books, games, movies and all that in some ways 1000 times better or so than real life itself...
Games like this back then WERE my world and I wish they still could be... Hate my new boring life with little to nothing to do, trying so hard to play new good games like Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core which was great, but nowhere near as good as the original, that even seemed a little bit too corny at some parts...
Sweet. :) Funny though, you know? My mom's family even live in Dallas, and my Dad's family live in Houston.
But bits and pieces of all them, even my super cute little cousins (:)), as well as my awesome Uncle Jerry, my Dad's brother who is like what made up my love for video games some how (:D), like...
Overall... No one in my family is really worth talking about... Maybe not even me... At least not yet... :(
But man, my Dad's mom is 100% Japanese. ^^ I'm even 25% Japanese by Blood! :D
@AkumaUchitoru I hear ya, I'm African American (in other words I'm black) and feel like to go somewhere away from USA, don't even care if it's another similar to Breath of Fire or the Tales series.
love this theme too.

I loved how Ryu's sword swinging animation during battle changed as the story progressed,
Also that whole "coming of age" thing was really cool in videogames.
they need to do it more often.

@TheHikariOne Better avoid Breath of Fire 2, then, since in that one, the obviously Christian-like church turns out to be the source of evil.

This theme embodies ALL of my ( bittersweet) childhood memories.... LOL, don't go cancelling your account like Idunator did, all right?
