  • her interpetation is better, because she played in Russia, not in America.

  • Staggering playing

  • Horowitz and Argerich (I doubt he'd want to mentioned in the same breath as the latter...) don't necessarily set the standard when it comes to the interpretation of this piece! This is a marvelous performance by a gifted musician who, tragically enough, died young. Respecting her artistry should be what the commentary here should be about. Clearly, demosj doesn't get that. Who's sorry now?!

  • Her interpretation is sublimely better than Horowitz's.

  • "There are those who consider the recorded performances of Horowitz and others of this Scherzo to pale in comparison with that of Rosa Tamarkina"?

Really? Must be a sorry lot. She plays with palpably less finesse. The clarity in the octave passages suffers from the pedal. Narrow dynamic range. Less exciting coda.

The very last thing this recording needs is comparison with Horowitz's or Argerich's performances.

  • She plays this with the fire of Argerich, but more well controlled and shaped -- I think. What a shame God didn't grant her a longer life.

  • She was a fabulous player and I really like her interpretation.
