I actually think the statue in 1:40 is talked about in the youtube video E3 2011 stage demo thats 20mins. Watch from 3:40-3:53. It talks about being down in Hyrule and then portaling back to Skyloft using "statues"

it's not seen here but I thought I should point out that if you look toward Skyloft during the bird racing you see this gigantic dome of clouds behind it. Other than that it's an endless flat sea of clouds. Does anyone else think this is gonna be like Spirit Tracks in regard to returning near home for the final stage because I feel that the dome is hiding something?

Skyward Sword(as ALOT of you know already)Takes place at the very beginning of the timeline,and one piece of proof is when you get a 25th Anniversary pamphlet with OoT 3D,a small ad for Skyward Sword is on it,telling you that its a prequel to OoT

None of the other Zelda games content has nothing to do with SS(except ofcourse Link,The Master Sword,Zelda,Triforce,all the main stuff)

Skyloft looks amazing. I mean seriously waterfalls in the sky...how cool is that? The big statue stands out like nothing I've seen before in a Zelda game. Wind Waker had the tower of the Gods but you could only appreciate it from a distance. This statue is not only huge but it also appears to have great spiritual meaning to the people of skyloft and more importantly in an area of significance (like clocktown) where we come back over and over again.

For the record, the area with the swinging vines is from the Sky Temple demo that was playable at E3 this year, not a "new dungeon", per say. Said dungeon contained a Beetle Upgrade, though you could skip it.
