  • Well done!! im hungry now lol

  • chana dal ????? what is that ??

  • @elimonjal chick peas

best to stop by a Indian/Pakistani grocery store and they will help you find the right one.

  • one question sheba g if i dont hve a cooker ..how much time it will b taken by daal n chicken ??

  • MARRY ME =)

  • Hi Thank u so much for ur recipe , just tried and came out too good....lil spicy for my kid.....next time i'll take care of that but he ate it with parantha.........i m so glad, i watched ur video.....thanks again.

  • Hello. Can this be put on the grill? Also, what can i use as a binder instead of the egg. Thanks. Nice recipe.

  • @EBABE143 - yes you can grill it .

    Try yogurt instead of egg

  • this is kebab for chiken

  • nice lean and desi. AWESOME recipe

  • Thank you for such a prompt reply Sheba aunty..I was preparing to make it and your message came just in time!

  • Sheba Aunty I have a quick question. I was wondering what was the quantity of channa dal to soak? Because you have not mentioned it anywhere on your site or in the video! I would appreciate it!

  • @nilouferyasmeen - 1/2 cup of soaked chana dal. Sorry I forgot to speak to it so it is entered as a text at 0.45

Thanks for pointing it out that it is not mentioned on my website. Good catch. I will get that updated.

  • hi i have a question if we use ground chicken how much time it takes in pressure .is the procedure different ?

  • @7861iggy - the procedure and time will remain the same due to cooking of the dal. Both dal and chicken must be cooked.

  • can you grill it like kofta kebob?

  • @mouquee - yes you can. While grilling do use some oil or oil spray so that the chicken kababs do not stick to the grill.

  • @sfehmi thank you. I went to indian an indian grocery (India Sweets & Spices) here in Northridge Ca., the staffs were so kind and I bought all ingredients listed here in your recipe. So if youre from LA, I recommend this store.

Two more things! How do I use the garam masala in this recipe and what is that green leafy thing after you added the egg and bread crumbs?

How long do we soak the shana dal?

  • @mouquee The green leafy thing is most likely Coriander leaves (fresh)

  • @harbajanassh Sunshine, if you like the recipe then a decent thank you note will do. To write something stupid like you have only speaks of your upbringing. This lady's cooking has helped alot of us. If recipes and cooking does not appeal to Indians of your mindset then do not even look at cooking recipes, better still get outta of youtube..................duh!!!!

  • hi sheba .i tried ur kebab recepie it is v delicious and i thank u for giving me such good receipe.i have a question from u that how can i store them??can i freez them?and yes how?

i mean without frying how can i store them?

again thanx and keep it up plz reply6 me as soon as u can

  • @MrHira402 Yes you can store them without frying. I do that all the time. Simply put the patties in a freezer bag - lay them out so that they do not stick to each other and put them in the freezer.

  • anyone knows how to make sarsoon ka saag (mustard spinich) and Makai Ki Roti (Corn Flat bread) ?

  • one order please . .. ^_^

  • why cant u just use ground chicken

  • @tooba1980 - yes you can use that. My experience has been that there is a difference in taste. Mainly due to the quality of ground meat. The ground meat available in the market usually has a lot of fat. Here is what I usually suggest, try it both ways and you be the judge. You will notice that for Shami Kababs also I use meat cubes rather than ground meat.

  • hi sfehrni,

muje ap k bat krne ka style acha laga aur nusrat fatah ali khan ki qwali b kafi achi thi,ek qustion krna tha, ap ne chicken cook krne k bad us ko mix kia tha mre pas woh matchine nhi ha me us ko kase mix kro.thanks

  • @naeem365 You can use a CIL Batta if you do not have a blender. That would be the old way.

  • Looks just like fish cakes when they are done.

  • It's Delucious!

  • Hi Sheba, I love your recipes - last night I made the Bombay sandwich and it was delish! Quick question about this recipe - do you remove the whole spices before you blend the mixture or do you leave them in? Do they grind down well? Just curious. Keep the great recipes coming! =)

  • lol white meat how racist xD

  • try to be professional dear

  • thats a pakistani escalope!

  • how about nutritional value of end product ? aren't you sceptical cooking chicken and vegs several times ?

  • allow me to correct you usage of english, in this conversation you would be the sceptical person, not her.

dont you agree? ha ha ha lol bless you.

  • you're right ..but hey ,look at the bright side , my funny english made your day ..Thanks , and keep giving free english lessons :)

  • Now i want some kebabs!

  • Wao...i tried this recipe......everybody like it at home.....thanks sheba

  • yes i like it iam german

  • thanks for ur receipe i will surely make it and impress my husband.;...take care

  • for the people who dont know what kebab means... :) before you write something here, you need to learn first -> what is kebab?...

You can do kebab from chicken or red-meat...and when you ask a turkish person -> what is kebab? he tell you.-> grill-meat, or meat at fire...

so berrymore :) kebab is not only doner kebab ;)...kebab has many kinds... :)

  • thanks for the info but i don't understand which comment of mine seems to you as i don't know about kebab. although i'm staying in SEA but we also have doner kebab, shish kebab, koubideh and many more. middle eastern and indian cuisines are everywhere.

  • najs tam oczy !

  • ale hujnia

  • haha you were laughing at 0:25

  • Really good recipe.....I made the kababs & everybody loved it.

  • thnxx i like it

  • Nice recipe, but you know too, this is not kebap. Raw cattle, lamb or chicken meat generally sauced with milk and tomato sauce with some spices, skewered and then cooked on coal or oak ember. This is the way how real kebap is prepared.

  • ahhhhhhh now thats proper food. thanks for that an i'm now subscribing :-)

  • That's a massive teaspoon...

  • Are you able to freeze these before frying them?

  • yes - you can do that.

  • its more of chicken kofta than kabab.

  • may i ask tht anything else we can use instead of breadcrumbs.but thanks a lot for this delicious receipe.plz give me answer of my question

  • You do not have to use bread crumbs. Simply cook without it.

  • kisses you lots)

    finaly something else besides tacos

    you my saver

  • look yummy, will try it some day, thanks for the vidoe!

  • Hi love your recipes ....my husband thought i had gone to nite school to learn curry cooking... LOL...do you have any veggie recipes ?

  • Hi Nice wonderful.can i use chick pea instant Daal

and one more thing where are you from

    i am in chicago now

    many thanks from chicago

  • GIMME ONE!!! :D greetings

  • may i ask why you don't use ground chicken?

  • You can use ground chicken. My experience is that with whole meat the mixture comes out well. You can watch my Shami Kebab recipe too where I use cubes of beef.

    Thx for asking

  • This is w0nderfuI

  • hey Sheba!

thank you very much for this recipe. I've tried it and it was delicious :)

really hard work with grinding (blender thing ;| I don't have food processor, unfortunately), but it was worth it!

my family was delighted! greetings from Poland! :-)

  • thanks - I have posted a Shami Kebab recipe. Please check it out.

  • thank you, I will :-)

but first I'll try... Bombay Biryani - looks delicious!

  • hi Sheba.....ur kabab recipe is amazing.....i tried it and it came out very tasty......only thing is i had to struggle with the blender to grind it....since chicken mixture was totally dry.....i had to add some water to finally get it right.....and then i had trouble making patties because of the moisture in the mixture (though i added extra bread crumbs)....patties were not as neat as urs....but final product was good!!!

Can u help me with grinding part...

    regards

    Swapnil

  • Thanks Swapnil. I use food processor to grind meat mixture. If you do not have one then what you did was the best. However, you can let the mixture rest in a fridge for some time, that way it will be easier to handle.

  • thanks for the tip!

  • Thanzk will try

  • Isnt this Shami Kebab

  • You can call it Chicken Shami Kebab. I have the authentic Shami Kebab recipe and will post that some time.

  • I have posted the recipe for Shami Kebab, please check it out.

  • What ever you use to grind stuff should do.

  • Hi Ms Fehmi...did you put any oil into the cooker when you added all the ingredients initially??

  • No- there is no need t o put any oil.

  • what kind of clove did you put?

  • At 0.49 I point to the cloves that I used. These are whole cloves.

  • what daal did u put...chana daal or arhar daal...can u lemme know??

  • It is Chana Daal

  • Man now I'm hungry as hell =)

  • Thanks for your recipe. I would like try this recipe. By the way, I dont have a pressure cooker. Is the ordinary cooking pot okay?

  • Yes the ordinary cooking pot is Okay. You will have to increase the cooking time so that both the chicken and the Daal are fully cooked.

  • Why do you say "Hi" ? you should say "Namaste!"

  • what is wrong with "Hi"? Do you say "Namaste" when you meet your friends, or just "Hi"?

  • Because Manjula says Namaste at the begging of her videos and it makes it more traditional.

  • Thanks for the recipe..Do you have some recipe for making Chicken Burger..

    Thanks again

  • thanks, your recipes are easy and taste good! I also love to use the pressure cooker myself, my mother used to use it all the time and it saves you a lot of time.

  • Thanks -

  • I tried this recipe and it was great.

Do you have a recipe for chicken karhai? I make karhai by cooking chicken pieces with tomatoes, salt, whole green serano peppers, and some butter. I throw everything together in a covered pan and cook it at low temp until all the water is evaporated. This tastes great but it is still not the real thing (my mom's dish). Please share your karhai recipe. Thanks!

  • Thanks.

I will try to post my chicken karhai recipe.
