Okay, just to clear everything up! I have watched at least 7 interviews with Joss Whedon mentioning the movie. The people that made the movie twisted the original script and made it watered down and 'hollywood'. Joss was only on set for a short while then had to leave the set AND the project because they were ruining the original version. SO, the t.v. show is his vision of how the movie SHOULD have been. and yes things were mentioned in the pilot because it's BUFFY, idiots. THERE WE GO! DONE.

The Buffy movie from Summer of 1992 is way better than the crappy tv-series from 1997 and Kristy Swanson looks so hot & sexy in her cheerleader-outfit. She's hotter than SM Gellar

Whedon didnt create this movie, this was created long before the TV shows which Whedon adopted from the movie, and made his own. And Swanson wouldv been too old by the time the TV show came out in 1997...

Whedon wrote this movie, he continued the story in the TV show, which is why many things in season 1 are unexplained. Swanson would have only been 5 years older but I guess maybe she would have been too old, yea.
