  • The King And I= old school romance

  • Comment removed

  • Pure, unadulterated sexual tension, without nudity.

  • The seconds seem like an eternity when Yul Brynner slides his hand around Deborah Kerrs waist to draw her closer as they dance. So romantic, not vulgar. It's beautifully done. Perfect pairing of actors - love it.

  • There is no equal to this musical. My favorite of all times.

  • @DebbieHalley I wanna watch.

I never Watched this. Seems so nice.

Are the same composers of The sound of music.

    Its seems brilliant

  • One of my favourite dances! Thank you so much!

  • Such an amazing scene! Wonderful, enthusiastic dancing!

I wonder how difficult she found dancing was in such full skirts...it was fantastic anyway.

  • The Iron Lady brought me here

  • hate Anna

  • Hands down, best F****** musical ever produced.

  • 23 dislikes need f*cked up the ass with a burning cigar!! people (and I only say people because animals can't click the dislike button, or TRUST ME, I would have said PIGS) why would you even bother to see this if you're gonna be disagreeable? idiots!

  • Just splendid!

  • One of the best scenes in one of the best movies ever!

  • 22 people did not get to boogie with the king

  • "you dance pretty, goooo go go on!"

  • Yul is yummy

  • The King and I is a fabulous movie, but some kings just pale when compared to others. If you want to see the KING in all his glory put away those pornographic videos and take a trip on the wild side

  • I'm 17 and watching this in 2011. Still an amazing movie.

  • somebody please tell me what the name of this dance is????

  • @stacey1able I believe it's polka.

  • @stacey1able .... they're dancing a polka

  • I'm trying to decide whether her skirt is ridiculous or AWESOME.

  • Proud they can produced such an Epic Scene....just Enchanting !!!

    .Bravo !!!!

  • It's almost unbelievable how at that silent moment, the King is able to go from almost predatory-like to childishly having fun so effortlessly. I agree with all these comments talking about the quality of sexual tension here! This is a great scene.

  • The sexual tension these two characters have in this film is better than any X-rated picture you could ever see. Beautiful!

  • @mariahoeck uh... ok

  • You can see and feel the Love and the Chemistry between Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner, in the "The King and I", also another great movie is "The Journey"...

  • Simple Beautiful!!!

  • I love the way her hoop skirt literally bounces off the column when she runs into it...

  • My idiot ex boss was so upset that I was showing this to her two year old, because it wasn't PC enough for her tastes. The idea was to entertain the kid with the music, not give him a civics lesson.

  • this is top off my all time favourites on my google jack netfan +1 music links to U tbe.

  • i wish he would look at me like that, makes me melt

  • Someone tell me if Yul and Deborah worked together in other films beyond "The King and I" and "The Journey"? I love them... *-*

  • where are the robots?

  • How can anyone dislike this?! Maybe they just missed the like button.

  • i love yul brynner! he has some strong feet to dance like that barefooted!

  • @alamoaggie..... he can do it so well in barefeet because he did the stage musical in barefeet for a year before he made the movie... I saw him on Broadway in the original, and he wasn't using flesh-colored shoes, he was actually in barefeet

  • I love Deborah's dress!

  • love thiss :)))

  • Who has always wondered....what would've happened if they weren't interrupted? :-)

  • This is one of the most joyous moments in a movie, EVER!

  • he was so sexy, he can be my king any day

  • to have an entire dance floor like that to fly across.....

    impressive.

the only time he was sexier was in MAGNIFICENT 7...

  • so do they fall in love with eachother?

  • think of all the fabric in those costumes... that dress glided so beautifully accross the floor!

  • Was the first musical I fell in love with and that scene is still NO 1 40 years latter.

  • Yul can dance with me any time ;D

  • iconic

  • I found out that Deborah Kerr is my fourth cousin!!!

    :D!!!

  • @Donzieja wow are you going round every video on youtube putting that lol

  • @coltmanm

    Nope. Only this one. :D

  • Ahh how i would love Yul to take me and spin me round like that :) One of my fav films

  • "You throw me off count!"

  • My Father was the only person to ever legally show this movie in Thailand upon it's release in a private screening for King Bhumibol. It was subsequently banned and remains so to this day! I will post a b/w film of my Father greeting the King at the theatre soon! I believe this is a little known fact about this epic film! Spread the word!

  • I love this movie and always cry at the end - just a shame Deborah Kerr had to dubbed singing.

  • I love "One to three and" 1:54 - 1:58 when Yul lefts each foot. It's funny and cute.

  • i love how her dress looks as she dances.

  • musical like these made me dream of magical moments...

  • Thumbs up if you're listening to this in 1882

  • Thumbs up if you're watching this in 2034.

  • @33rosyposy I will be!

  • I just bought this movie...She is absolutely my favorite actress.

  • How in the world can they dance in such big dresses??? i love it!

  • @colbersutube123

Pretty damn redundant if you posted the comment in 2011, considering everyone after you would be, in fact, watching it in 2011.

  • from a Siamese: can you believe that this story is banned in Siam?

    Hilarious!

  • It's amazing to think how ill Yul was when they filmed this. You'd never know, he's such a dedicated actor.

  • This is so beautiful, G&S have created some of the most amazing music in recent years. It's a shame they're not all performed very much any more.

  • I love Yul Brynner. This is one of my favorites! Plus throw Deborah Kerr into the mix...GOLDEN!!!!

  • I'd get so dizzy.

  • Love Love Love!

  • I am in the musical play

  • Etcetera etcetera etcetera!

  • At least 600 of these views came from me xD

  • One of the most sensual scenes ever, and they didnt even kiss.

    "Come, we'll do it again!"

    ..breathless......."Yes"

  • @yondr7 You've described it perfectly, I wish some overly graphic movies would take a lesson from this.

  • One of the examples of how beautiful classic cinema was. The part at 3:17 you can almost feel her trembling when he slips his hand around her waist! Its incredibly sexy but not classless like movies nowadays. :o)

  • that dress.....

  • I've never seen this movie T.T

Now it's a MUST! Thank you SO much for sharing this <3

  • Who disliked this??

  • Wonderful dress!

  • "You throw me off count"

    "I know, I know, I forget and!!"

"It was uhh......like this" *Hand on waist*

    OMG <3 it!!!

  • <3 always loved this song

  • Since 1956, so many times i watched this film! It's a real story. Deborah Kerr is wonderful and Rita Moreno too. Actually, Tuptin, the slave, was burned alive by order of the king. For this reason, Anna decided to leave Siam, but stayed, after the death of the king. Rockybrazil1

  • I went on hoilday to see my family we got bored a watch this I sang each of the songs I was on 6

  • Beauty and the Hunk...

  • YOU THROUGH ME OFF COUNT!!! Lol Gotta love yul.

  • @colbersutube123 and im 22 iv loved this move since i was wee!!!

  • This guy is a monster who kills at least one young, innocent woman. Who could weep for such a despot?

  • Yul was so hot and the sexual tension is all over the place in this scene! And they're not even doing anything inappropriate. When he puts his arm around her :O

  • @Castorell What a sheltered life you must lead??? There's more sexual tension down my local pub on a Friday night!!

  • @priapus56 Not in 1956 there wasn't!

  • @priapus56 It seems you have an idea of a different sort of sexual tension.

  • @ThePrettyPoetess ..Dauntless I may be but I must confess.....Loath am I to challenge a pretty poetess...

  • The King, "Come."

    George Takei, "Oh, my."

  • "Why you stop?! You dance pretty, go on, go on, go on!"

"But you'll dance with strange man, holding hands, et cetera?!"

"Yes, but not always with a stranger, usually a very good friend."

"Good! Then we dance together! You show me! Teach teach teach!" (I LOVE this part - he confirms how close they are. *sigh* <33333)

    "1, 2, 3, and...."

"Something wrong.....I know, I forgot 'and'! Next time I remember!"

Then he puts his hand on her waist. OMG. <3333333

    God I LOVE these two!

  • TEACH TEACH TEACH! Lolz

  • i tried teaching my friend how to do this. but she tripped into the couch

  • @selahangel1.... LOL!! OMG!! did she hurt herself?

  • Yul Brynner is a Boss

  • she must have been sweatin bullets from that dance, her dress is massive

  • @smithredhawk

she was. They had to have oxygen supply on hand for her on set because she would need to take breaks.

  • @scarletsimi87 i thought that was for Yul Brynner because of his smoking

  • @scarletsimi87

It could have been but I saw it in a documentary. They had it for her because her dress was heavy.

  • @scarletsimi87 Sexy. So sexy.

  • such an amazing movie, the costumes are beautiful, bright , vibrant colors, love it

  • zo worden films niet meer gemaakt :(

  • ecatera ecatera, ECATERA

  • yul brynner was the pioneer of the one two step XDDD

  • They don't make movies like this anymore. Deborah Kerr floats and Yul Brynner, well, he's just breathtaking.

  • the way he grabs her waist is such a simple gesture but for some reason it's so sexy

  • i what her dress

  • i love when they hope how the gown moves :D

  • Just saw a friend's daughter in her high school play/musical-you guessed it, "The King and I!" Made me want to see this video-was magical. Have to get the movie now-forgot how it transports you to another time and gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Thank you for sharing this video!

  • Good times. I watched this as a kid how beautiful!!

  • The "Shall We Dance" scene from The King and I is one of my most favorite parts of the movie. Deborah Kerr sings beautifully and she does fly around the room when she dances. Yul Brynner comes across just as he is: very handsome, in deep thought, his magnetic eyes focusing on hers, wanting and needing her. They both together make the dance a real classic. Each time I watch it I am thrilled.

  • @writer711 .... I agree with every bit of your post, except that it's not Deborah Kerr's voice you hear... these songs were pre-recorded by the great Marni Nixon who dubbed several movie scores because the leading ladies either couldn't sing or could sing but their voices were weak. She dubbed Deborah's songs again in "An Affair to Remember".. Natalie Wood's songs in "West Side Story" and Audrey Hepburn's songs in "My Fair Lady"

  • @writer711 Thank you for mentioning Marni Nixon, I was about to before I read this. Though it still annoys me that her name is not in the title of this video, given her brilliance.

  • @kerryincolumbus I thought Julie Andrews dubbed in "My Fair Lady"??

  • So much better than the animated movie.

  • Can all kings be as sexy as Yul Brynner please? LOL

  • @Falln4DarkAngel

oh How I agree........... where did those MEN go ?

  • @cindyfox1 Where did all those women go? hungry for power, hungry for position, hungry for entitlement, seems the only men sanctioned as 'safe' are demoralized, disheartened sloth.

  • @cpufightclub Well... Im not sure about either yours or my comment. I only meant That he was funny but demanding but also deep down he was gentle. but if you want to go there, im sure I could muster up some argument about women being sanctioned off like heads of cattle..(if they had cattle LOL ). Where the only real difference between men and women were the size of thier...or indeed where it is placed on the body !!

Real men are not demoralized disheartened nor sloths.. real men are MEN !

  • @cindyfox1 Nah. I think we should ignore what was just typed. Rather, we should not ignore it and take it as an example of the confusion and disappointment men and women feel.

  • @cindyfox1.......where did those men go??? Ask GLoria Steinem! She and her ilk of bad-mannered, loud-mouthed Liberal lesbos forced all the REAL men to stand in the corner and cry and pee themselves for being REAL MEN!

  • most amazing scene in the movie. her dress is amazing

  • yul brynner was soooooo hot!!!!

  • I used to watch this movie over and over and over when i was younger!!! I love this!

  • Where can I watch the entire movie?

  • I love deborah kerr!!

  • LOL The king is so funny. "Go dance, dance! Teach teach teach!" xD

  • SUCH BRIEF MOMENTS OF GENIUS MUST BE PRESERVED-THANK YOU!

  • he is my favorite actor in the whole world, he is the best at his craft.

  • a forth grade class saw this movie no one could keep quiet till the death scence

  • love, love this movie.........

  • I am in love with her dress!

  • A very pre-"Emergency!" Marco Lopez had an uncredited role in this movie. He was one of the performers in 'The Small House of Uncle Thomas' segment.

  • she stops dancing

"why you stop! you dance pretty! go on go on go on!

    she gives excuse.

but you'll dance with strange man! that isnt husband.

it can be a good friend.

    ok, lets go.

    i love this movie :D

  • My favorite scene !! Thank you !

  • my cousins wedding dress was that dress but white. She had it made to look EXACTLY like this one!

  • @lynnlasalle Your cousin is incredibly lucky!! And props to her for managing to deal with the skirt!!

  • @lynnlasalle Did she make it to the alter lol it looks very heavy

  • @lynnlasalle Hey how much did that cost, about. Do You remember (: ?

  • @lynnlasalle how awesome is that! I was just thinking, Gone with the Wind for mine! Lol

  • Words can't describe my love for that dress :P

  • Marni Nixon dubbed Deborah Kerr in this film, as well as An Affair To Remember, and My Fair Lady for Audrey Hepburn. She is known has the "Ghost Singer". A splendid voice indeed. She also played one of the nuns for the Sound of Music.
