  • Enjoyed the video til the music started playing at the end.

  • ....then the music drops

  • Finally some one sets it all straight...ive been saying this for years. well something similar.

  • bullshit. the dude that makes the noises, electricity, sweats tears and blood he IS THE PRODUCER.

  • Rico you are a genius! I love your work and thanx for sharing your knowledge.

  • Shot out to Circle House

  • musician*

  • This guys explanation is bullshit. A producer does exactly just that "produces". Some producers are more extensive than others. Some are sound engineers and musics, some aren't.These lame distinctions of producers started with the younger generation. Back in the day, no one had any way of knowing how involved the producer was in the music. Some chefs cook totally from scratch others purchased material, but when the meal sits in front of you, no one will know if its from scratch or not,nor care.

  • Well said! Anybody disagree...how many major awards or plugs did you get versus Rico Love's? Quincy Jones believes the same thing....match his record sales.

  • Keep on teaching.

  • So Making a beat isn't creative? Then you come back and say where does the drums or the music take me...? A producer is ONE who can take nothing and make something out of it PERIOD! If i sit down behind a instrument or a notebook i feel like i am producing. I have taken what ever tool i have been given and created something that most thought couldn't be done with that tool. For example you give me a pair of pliers and I use those pliers to cut down a tree... THAT IS PRODUCING!!!!!

  • you tellin errbody a little too much artist info there ... lmfao jk

  • I feel you on becoming "one" with the music, I always tell people that I "see" the music, the melodies, words, cords....everything. Good job Rico

  • At 1st I wasn't sure what to expect before I actual played the video, after seeing it, I'm glad that it's out there for both young & older people in this industry to understand what these creative positions actual are. You can wear one or many hats, but you should know & understand what hat you are wearing....learn your craft throughly & daily.

  • So True.

  • and all the music out today is crap so you are not a good producer

  • man this video is a jewel

  • 1:06 is how Jay z Son will look lol

  • I am just a music fan but i like to read about the industry. This video is very informative. Better than reading a book.

  • Very true bro... not many people know the difference so it was good to hear you kick some knowledge that other young producers need to hear. big ups!!!

  • Well Said..........

  • thanks . i know consider myself a producer/songwriter [ young ]

  • excellent

  • very, very good insight in this

  • Did you attend a school like full sail and get a degree or have any type of training

  • Nice message

  • Hey Rico Love,

I'm an up and coming Producer/ Songwriter/ Top line Writer. I would like to be a part of Division 1. Is there any room for me?

  • Wanna be a producer? Study Rick Ruben and David Foster!

  • @LVB1770 DON'T FORGET PHIL SPECTER

  • Great points! Just because you make a 4 on the floor 2 & 4 snare beat doesn't mean you produce! For me the best beats are made by drummers!

  • @LVB1770 to each their own opinion. not everyone has access to a drummer

  • "Don't think music, Feel music"- perfect.

  • he couldnt have said it any better right here, because when me and my production partner create, we actually breake the beat down to a structured song before it is presented to a label or artist. he summed it all up. you have to give credit where credit is do.

  • @tatsurulez axiom 25

  • What is that little piano keyboard with the drumpad on the top of it?

  • @TatsuRulez may be the M-audio Axiom
