i had a new 1991 ford f150 4x4 the it was in the shop more than in my driveway.i paid $26k 9 months latter and could not get $16k junker.my brother had a 1986 f150 he had it 15 years it was the most dependable truck when he sold it there was221k miles on it. he never changed the trans.fluid.he changed the motor oil 4-6 times in 15 years
i blew my engine on a 06 f150 with 147,000 miles. my 00 sierra has 610,000 miles with the original engine and mainly travels on dirt roads. i never tow anything with that ford. it likes to suck my wallet dry. i'm constantly buying gas, getting spark plugs, and repair shit that requires me to do a tear down. after this truck, i'll never own a ford again. gm maybe built on tax dollars, but a least they down build piece of shit trucks.

He was still a patriot, and I believe this is proven by the fact that he suspended domestic production for the duration of two wars, to build war products at 100% factory capacity. I have a 1990 Corolla and a 1992 Corolla and they BOTH still run like day one, and I JUST had to have the timing belt replaced on the 1990. I'm sorry, GM/Ford made some nice cars in their heyday, but now they build shit, and sell their shit at very shitty prices. I'd buy a good foreign-made car rather than an American shibox anyday. And most Toyotas are made in the USA.
